Baking cups (or cupcake liners) are inexpensive items great for paper crafts. In this video, I will show you how I have used these cups to make a magnificent geometric ball.
Baking cups are great for this craft because of their flexible ridges (corrugations), which are stretchable, allowing a pentagon to form following the geometric rule of dodecahedron.
For more delicate baking cups, use PVA. PVA requires more drying time and hence patience. For rigid cupcake liners, using hot glue will give you the best result. However, you will need to be quick as the thin strip of hot glue dries very fast during its application.
Baking cup star balls are easy to make. They are ideal decorations for Christmas, festivals, and celebrations (weddings, birthdays, and alike). They can also be used for lights (Diwali, lantern festival) and room decor. Why not try one yourself using your personal creative colors?
