Modern pendant lamp made from paper plates - best of waste DIY (EzyCraft)

In this video, I used paper plates to construct a modern lampshade. I used a large size plate with 23 cm in diameter. If you intend to make this lamp, make sure you have at least 14 - 15 plates to complete this project. As you can see in the video, I have also made some smaller ones. They are 18 cm in diameter and the internal circle is 6 cm. You can make a larger feature light or a group of smaller lights with or without the larger one.
For safety, please use a low energy LED light bulb.

This is not really upcycling or re-using waste since the plates are new and never been used. However there are plenty of waste products that can be used in a similar way. Plastic food containers, fast food drink cups, or red solo cups (after a party there are tons of used ones and they just need to be rinsed out to make a project with them). Lots of single-use plastic items from catering and food service can be used like this. paint the inside of them with a sheer, translucent paint to hide the light bulb.

Hi there.. you can definitely paint the paper plates with acrylic, if you intend to have them as decorations, rather than lights. The paint will more or less create a barrier for the light to pass through.
