Hey Meghan! Your onions are bolting. They sent up a flower to make and drop seeds to procreate. Typically you would cut off the flower to prolong the life of the bulb. If you cut off the flower, you can hang it upside down to dry and collect the seeds to plant. Peace and love from Joshua Tree!

Teaching my dog to come when called was one of the easiest things we thought her. It is extremely important to have a strong recall because it could save their life someday. Start in the living room and have you and Fin sit a decent distance apart and using treats, call Larry back and forth and give a treat each time he comes to you. Increase the distance when he has it down. Eventually try moving to the fenced pasture and do the same thing there. Then try a dog park with lots of distractions. It’s so important to have a dog that will come to you when you need it to.

I have a lot of gardening tips for you. Your doing a great job. But first off don’t water the leaves water the soil don’t want the plants to get sunburned and create diseases. Also you should look into feeding the plants based on the plant. Also for lady bugs to stay you want to water and put them in fridge so they fall asleep. Then after you soaked the soil and the sun has set you want to them spread the lady bugs. During the day lady bugs fly miles and miles. So if you want them to stay in garden have to do it sunset so when they wake up they feed. Also you should look on KZbin calikim she’s a great KZbin gardener I love her. If any leave are dead or bad clip them to avoid spreading. Clean clippers to not spread disease. And I don’t think in your garden deer are getting your flowers dear I don’t think like marigolds. I think it’s a squirrel so I would suggest looking Pinterest on how to hide food for squirrel to avoid getting into your garden. Sorry if not making sense. I just have a lot to say. Love your garden. Your garden friend Jess.

I'm so excited every time you post! I live for your garden videos :) A lot of plant success relies on soil composition. The more nutrient-rich soil you have the better your plants will grow. Your sunflowers may be sad because they went from the garden soil to just the regular top soil on your land, which would likely have less nutrients :( I hope they perk up soon for you!!!

Hey Meg, I love how you have mentioned sustainability on your blogs and the different ideas you always throw in. I recently have been changing my lifestyle as well and its so much easier when there is a community you feel you can belong too. I also wanted to just mention that you should look into fair trade products. I don't know if you've ever mentioned this but based on watching your viedoes for years now, I think you would find this an incredible topic to look into and also incorporate into your lifestyle! Have a great day!✌🌻

About the garden, I don't know how much you've red into it, but I saw that your plants are all over the place (nothing wrong with that) and there's a thing called good neighbors. It's planting together plants that go well together, for example they use different things from the ground and also the smell of one plant prevents bugs from eating the neighbor plant... And also rotation of the garden every season. Anyways I know some of these things because we have a big organic garden at home :) The onion will flower at the top, but that's ok, you can harvest it whenever you like. The sunflowers may look dead if you've only recently moved them. Hope that helped, love you Meg

Hello Meghan! Here is some gardening advice from my wise gardening mother: First, it looks like your cauliflower plant and marigold are being bothered by gophers. You’ll recognize deer damage by large parts of the plants missing from the top. They will eat a plant down to the roots. It is unmistakeable. Dig around and see if you can find a tunnel around the marigold flowers. Also, it appears your other plants are suffering from soil issues. Look into adding some micro organisms, for example, earth juice products. Building and cultivating your soil is the most important thing you can do for your garden. Also, keep all dead leaves out of the garden. Keep them in a separate compost pile in case it is in fact the beginning of a disease. This will stop it from progressing to the rest of the plant/plants through dead leaves and spores. Also that flower at the top of the onion taste awesome. They are not necessary to the development of the onion. Onion flowers go for a high price at the farmers market so eat yours as soon as it blooms! Fry it with herbs are chop it up in your salad. If your sunflowers wilted after you transplanted them, they have transplant shock. Buy gardening B1 to use for preventing transplant shock. You can get it at any gardening center. You should use it for all your transplanting. In summary, earth juice bio righteous, B1, and keeping the garden clean of dead leaves and weeds is the best thing you can do to keep your garden healthy and thriving! Good luck with your garden and I’m sorry about your grandpa.

Hey there Meg! I just wanted to start by offering my deepest condolences to you & your family :) Thank you for sharing such raw parts of your life with us. Then lime juice w/ powdered sugar. Other ideas: choc orange, cranberry and white choc, cinnamon apple, coffee(!!), mint choc chip, rose. Another thing i can suggest from personal experience is before baking choc cupcakes put a fresh raspberry or two in the centre 👌👌 Comment below if you have other suggestions. Xox

To keep deer and other animals from eating your garden add some human hair to the garden. Trim some of your hair or Finley's hair and scatter it in the garden. If you order ladybugs again make sure to read the directions. For them to be as affective as possible put the package in the fridge and wait until it dark at dusk or dawn to release them and water your plants before you release. I worked at a plant nursery for two years and we sold lady bugs
