Ohhh Lia stayed in Baguio, I was born there and moved to Canada when I was 12 back in 2007. There’s a lot of Koreans in Baguio even back then. The housing area next to our house had a lot of Korean students and families staying and we became friends with them inviting them in birthday parties or when my mom cooks a lot of food we would share some Filipino dish with them and they would also share some Korean food that’s how I first tried kimchi back in 2003.

Jess! normally after you mix everything together, the dough should rest in the fridge/chiller, and later be formed into balls like what you did, and then bake in 10-12mins. The longer you bake it, the harder/crunchier it gets.

what difference does it make if you rest the dough or not? will it mean a softer cookie after it cools? if it's an important step, I'm surprised it's not in the instructions (which they must have read in order to see the proportions)

Also separate the liquid and solid ingredients. Like mix the egg and oil first then after that the mix powder or anything solid. After that you will now mix both solid and liquid in one direction

Hi Jessica! Good job in baking the crinkles. They are hard posibly because they were overmixed. Mix them just enough that it's incorporated and also decrease baking time. Your oven might be on the hot side. Every oven is different sometimes you have to double check it with an external thermometer.

I had my first crinkles back when i was 11/12 yrs old. My maternal grandmother baked some. Weeks later, we had a small expo/trade fair at the elementary school I was studying in. Foundation Day. I thought of selling my grandma's crinkles. I asked for her help and she made two batches for me. I can't remember anymore what amount the profit was but I gave everything back to my grandma. Years passed and I had my share of experience of tasting other ppls crinkles. I miss my grandma's style/recipe.. It's really soft most chewy and has gooey chocolate inside. And the size! Oh wow. It's bigger than regular commercially available crinkles.
