I don't see the problem with youtubers referring their subscribers as 'guys' or anything like that because they are talking to a bunch of collective people that is their following. I get it that watching yt is a solo activity that a person might be doing but most of their followers/fans do recognise themselves as a part of a community that they have built and it's nice to be a part of it because I might have no friends, idk this is just my opinion.
