Doc, I thought very impossible ng dream ko na maging doctor soon not only in the Philippines. I took up Nursing because of its overseas opportunities that when I proceed to medicine here in the 🇵🇭 I still have the entry point of going to the US. But, you gave me the biggest realization in my future career. Awwweee! Because it’s also because of your another video why I wanted to become a doctor to the barrios, and even up to now I want that. Theres nothing wrong with not knowing exactly what you want. Sa mga nagdodoctor kasi, nadedelay ang adulting. It was always study to get to point A, then study some more to get to point B, then some more to point C. And once all is done, nakakalito na anong gagawin. I myself took USMLE dahil.. wala lang. Di pa ako ready mag residency, and I took a year off to rest so i thought might as well do something productive during that year off which defeated the purposes btw. One thing led to another and then before i knew it, i was interviewing already. I got lucky enough to get matched so for a while may concrete goal ako for 3 years. Then after residency, decisions ulit. mag fellowship ba, magwork na, uwi pinas, where? Im now a practicing specialist and believe me, nangangapa pa rin ako from time to time kung saan patungo buhay ko. Good luck sa usmle. May the match be with you.

I had a lot of doubts before deciding what career I really want in the future and until now I'm still drowned with what if's. I am turning Grade 11 this coming school year and if it wouldn't be because of the curriculum, I wouldn't fully explore what I really want. I have still many questions in my mind and lately I've been doubting my capabilities. Being the eldest child and being financially unstable are mainly the reasons why I am at the edge of considering what I want Fortunately, your channel stumbled upon my recommendations and whenever I watch your videos, the fighting spirit inside me lit and I became motivated to do whatever it takes. I've never told anyone about how I truly feel. But Ate aura, slowly helps me to broaden my perception about works, college,medschool and all. I am slowly starting to learn how life works, how cruel it is, and how life really sucks. I am just a highschooler, an incoming Grade 9 student but it feels like my path is neither wrong nor right. To be honest, I never know where am I really standing and where should I stand. Everyone else in the class knows what will they become, everyone has that specific dream while there's this person walking on a road with no one by her side. There's this person who's still wandering, lost, stuck. I couldn't move on, i can't walk forward, men I just can't because I don't even know what path am I taking, and what place will this lead me. At some point, Ate aura guided me though I'm still lost but just by watching her vlogs, it feels like there's someone beside me telling that " YES, you're on the right path, and even if you're lost you'll still find your way back. Hi doc. You probably won’t be able to read this but I just wanna say thank you so much for this video. I am currently a PGI about to take the boards on september. Nagderecho po ako from premed to medschool. I felt pressured to just go go and go. Right now I feel really burned out. Gusto ko po talagang magrest muna after boards but people around me kept saying that I would just waste time moonlighting but this video made me realize that’s it’s ok to rest it’s ok to do what I want even if it’s not what others want for me esp my parents. Lately, ang dami ko nang pinapanood na videos mo. However, this in particular resonated to me so well. Incoming freshman ako, non-"premed" ang course ko (Anthropology, minor in Psychology) but lately, bigla kong na-miss ang natural science probably bcs of the crisis right now. I took HUMSS nung SHS despite loving Science since elementary, it was a calling. Sometimes I think of shifting to an ideal pre-med para mapadali ang buhay ko, but somehow I feel like currently I'm on the right path pa. Pareho po tayong grab lang nang grab ng opportunities, at feeling din ng mga tao sa paligid ko na alam ko ang ginagawa ko sa buhay. I just think not everyone realizes na regardless of our choices, we will still be happy and contented. Somehow a particular change will matter to the present us, but pagdating sa future, hindi na. We're allowed to not be sure what to do with our life after any hurdle. Life happens as it should. :) Ako nga ilang beses nag-isip na mag-quit na ng Medicine, since dapat 2015 pa ko graduate and yet, after time off and working as an RMT, I realized that I wanted to come back and finish what I started. So ayun, finally graduating Med school in a few months at age 29. And even if I still dunno what I wanna do with the rest of my life past PGI and boards, I think that anyone of us going through uncertainty is going to be okay. We're allowed to learn. Thank you sa mga featured topics nyo na may substance. You've become part of me kasi nagstart ako manood ng vlogs nyo nung nagrereview ako for board exam, mga study tips, one good example yung pomodoro technique which really helped me a lot. Luckily and with all the hardwork, I passed the exam. I thought it would be easy for me to land a job and figure out what I really want in life but the truth is I'm struggling rn. Ilang resumé na naiprovide ko pero wala parin. Yung ang dami kong pangarap pero hindi malinaw yung path ko. One of it is to become a doctor too, that's why I took a pre-med course but I guess I wouldn't be able to fulfill it if rn hindi clear ang path ko. Pero hearing someone you can relate to means a lot.

Always been in awe of you since I saw you on PBB, Aura. I'm a CPA here in the Philippine, totally unrelated to medicine, but super relevant ng mga contents mo even to other professions. I'm one of those guilty in asking bakit ka nag aaral uli haha. And wow, it's so amazing to find out you're gonna take US MLE. For me, push lang! Don't mind those people who wants you to serve in your country as a doctor. You never know what you could discover in US that you can bring back/share here in the Philippines. There are a lot of ways to give back to your country. And, gusto ko lang din sabihin how lucky and blessed you are to have that opportunity. Not everyone has that. I have been wanting to take US CPA licensure exam ever since I passed the Philippine CPA board but I don't have the means to do so. Walang kakilala or whatever from US that can help me pursue it. Hehe. So I think your very encounter of this opportunity in itself already means THAT THIS IS FOR YOU. Hindi naman dadating sayo to kung hindi para sayo. Wishing for your success! Maybe you do an Medical Observership/Externship or Research while studying...it is not common fashion here in the US to completely stop, to review for exam....When you eventually apply for US residency, these blanks on your Resume will be brought up...regards and good luck.

Before you attempt to be a doctor note to self 1. Its not the job for you if u want to be rich. You can get decent salary here in Philippines but the responsibility, stress, time and the work you do, doesnt fully reflect on your salary. Underpaid po ang doctors sa Pinas kaya maraming umaalis! 2. It is physically, mentally, and emotionally tasking profession. So make sure you can handle your stress very well. 3. After the grueling review and passing the medical boards. Hnd ka pa tapos magaaral ka pa rin. 4. Yep after my training im leaving this country too. :)

THIS IS WHY I CAN SAY, PBB NEVER MADE A MISTAKE ON CHOOSING YOU TO BE ONE OF THEIR HOUSEMATES. Sobrang nakakainspire Dok! Sobraaa! I discovered and realized so much about my dreams, as well as my passion. Kung may hinihingi ka pong sign kay Lord, may this is it. I don't know ha, pero as you said, we don't know you pa po that much, kahit ramdam ko na super open ka. You're such a dreamer! Sa PBB pa lang, yung courage mo, I really admire that. Yung pag-sastand mo for yourself na kayo lang ni Tanner gumawa, na it's really up to us who will we put up first. Sa KZbin videos mo po, dun ako nakahanap ng motivation, and same type of personalities (yung viewers) as well. One teacher told me, "idealistic ka masyado!". That made me question my big dreams, I even auditioned sa PBB same batch nung sayo Dok!! Super nakakaproud, kasi I knew someone, who has big dreams like me, nagawa niyang itake yung risk sa PBB, nag scholar sa DLSU at PLM, and now you're there in US. Just so you know, sobrang saya ko na po agad for you, taking the 6 year medicine journey, took a lot of dreams and courage kasi nakakatakot na san nga ba mapupunta yung BS Human Bio kapag mawalan ng pag-asa in the middle of the course, but here you are, gradually achieving your dreams. Doc, I am 16 and I'm taking STEM next year. It's been so long na nong video mo about "How long does it take to become a doctor?" and baka some parts doon ay hindi na siya same or applicable sa ngayon. Plus! I have no idea about the years of learning in the different Pre-med courses. Also, i want to be guided throughout my journey so i did some research and found you! I was so happy and glad! But still i still lack in information about taking MED and kung ano siya or anong mga pagsubok na haharapin ko in the future. Luckily, my grades are high. Having a 92.56 average is not bad but still (not to brag). I feel challenged and confused of the paths about becoming an aspiring doctor. I am afraid that maybe there will come a point where i will give it all up or bigla na lang ako susuko dahil sa puyat at pagod. Plus! ANG BOARD! whenever i think about MED or taking it. The point of taking the board exams scares me (kahit hindi pa ako nakapagtake hay) baka bagsak ako? or ma mental block? or becoming a doctor is really not for me? or hindi kaya sa brain cells ko ang MED. My ENCAE results came and most of it's first preference was under MED. I felt good! pero...still hesitant. Ito po ang storya ko. Gusto ko lang ishare sa inyo. Bata pa lang po ako eh pangarap ko ng maging doktor. Gustong-gusto ko ang propesyon na to. Gusto kong tumulong at maging instrument ni God para magpagaling. Kaya lang unti-unti akong natatakot. Hindi dahil inaayawan ko na yung pagiging doktor kundi dahil wala kaming pang-aral. Wala kaming pera. Hirap na hirap yung mga magulang kong magpaaral sa amin kahit nasa secondarya pa lang ako. Hindi ko na alam gagawin ko. Natatakot ako na baka mawala lahat ng pangarap ko.

True re: babalik at babalik ka pa din sa pagdodoktor. My reason why I took up Medicine was as simple as because I do not know what career I want in life and my parents just gave it as a suggestion... and so I did, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Yeah sometimes you will stop and think that you may be successful just the same by going the easier way...but not everyone gets the opportunity and experience of being in this field. I am a specialist already, an OB GYN, a fellow. But life never fails to surprise you right?! I am working my way to being a GP now here in Australia because I decided to settle here with my husband. Is it going to be worth it? Can I still push myself to train as an OB GYN here?? Only God knows. The title doesn't actually matter anymore as long as you are happier with where you are and still burning with passion to achieve your goals. 27? I am turning 35, still going through a bunch of medical books and I feel like I have more to learn and attain, and so do you. You are still young and you have a great future ahead of you. Keep pushing and moving forward. Time will run fast and you will realize at some point that all these were actually worth the sweat! God bless you!!!

Doc in my personal opinion, okay lang naman na mawala tayo sa kung saan tayo naglalakad or kung hindi na natin alam. I think we could design what would happen in our future but we could really never tell what exactly would happen kasi if we do then it would be boring and wala nang thrill. I know doc sometimes napapatanong din ako ano na???? Hahahaha. Ano nang gagawin ko sa buhay ko and everything pero siguro yung nagpapalakas na lang ng loob ko ay yung mga taong nakapaligid sa akin, yung mga naniniwala sa akin na kaya ko. And God, in believing that He always knew where we should be. Like you doc, Im always telling these things to myself to be always strong and to always keep fighting and aiming for that purpose in life. Sabi nga ng prof ko, ‘we should all carve our own niche’. Kaya mo yan doc. You inspire me.

Hi Doc Au. Seen u a lot of times sa OMMC before and I wanted to approach u and take a selfie pero lagi lowbat phone ko pag nakikita kita eh. Your very relatable to me kc I dreamed of becoming a Doctor someday pero non-medical yung course ko ngayun sa college so parang malabo. However, watching your videos gives me sneak peek para maintindihan what it really takes to be studying Med. i tried auditioning also sa PBB lols. Lastly, I'm very happy to see your colleagues such as Doc. Harold and Doc Jan and the rest of the IM Doctors sa OMMC kc lagi ko clang nakikita and minsan pinapalad makausap pagnasa ER at IM Ward. They are the doctors attending to my grandmother sadly she's gone. Every time I see them parang nabubuhay yung pangarap kong magdoctor. Hope to meet u someday Doc Au. Bless U!
