Episode 27 was easily the greatest battle of season 1. Masquerade won that fair and square, using Quicksand Freeze to keep from Dan using any triple battle nonsense. Masterfully played.

Dan losing to the main villains in each season is pretty crazy, not too often you see that from protagonists. And let’s not forget Masquerade basically spared him twice cause he could’ve easily taken drago in their first encounter (without hydranoid) and if shun was still being grumpy, could’ve let Dan take the fall in their free for all match. But to me, the most infamous lost by Dan had to be vs Masquerade when he got sent to the doom dimension. Just… jarring

@@Pdr-wzfootbr1834 the first match, a little bit unknown by the outcome, but if you believe it’s a tie that’s fine. Based off Masquerade’s “I spared him for you.” Makes me think he was going to win, but withdrew the battle forcibly. Yes shun did help Dan beat masquerade but at any point it really felt like Masquerade had every advantage over Dan regardless of how he and shun played while separate. I don’t think that’s overestimating Masquerade or I guess you mean Dan. In either case, Dan was on the ropes both those matches and I doubt he’d had a miracle comeback like he did vs Chan Lee

That line about him sparing Dan didn't even make sense, since he showed no mercy to other fighters like Runo, who he defeated off-screen, so the line was more because the skill Dan used was stronger than the entry card and the game was forced to end in a draw

Dan season 1>Masquerade and Masquerade>>>>>>>Gus, Dan lost because the script wanted him there (so much so that in the next fight between the two Spectra appeared just to help Gus who would easily lose), Anubias literally won because Dan was destabilized with his mind going crazy because of Mag Mel and Zenoheld had an arena for him with a trap, besides, I didn't mention in the fight that he did a double against Ren because there was a 1 vs 3 without him knowing☠️ totally unfair

No I didnt forgot, Lumagrowl's battle gear ability was transform bakugan's back to ball form so it wasn't give any attack damage and also Kazarina used that ability to escape. She was sure that she didnt had any chance to win lol.
