Dylan’s comment on Mag Mel was spot on - had Dan and the rest weren’t involved in the Neathian-Gundalian war, Barodius wouldn’t have been banished and mutated. So in a sense, the Brawlers really did create Mag Mel. If they weren’t involved, Barodius would have conquered Neathia and the rest of the universe, but because Dan has defeated him, he and Dharak were banished by Code Eve and were subsequently mutated.

I feel like Dylan should of had a larger role. He’s an ai that tries to make Bakugan battles more interesting for the battlers. He lets the battlers use Chaos Bakugan and BakuNano, even though they can be dangerous, so he doesn’t care about safety. Dylan’s existence shows how smart Marucho is, even though he is an accident. A sentient rouge ai in a vr game is a really cool concept.

Second, it ruins any chance of actual nuance. They admit that they will be destroyed as soon as they've outlived their usefulness, and they don't care. They only care about serving their master and destroying his enemies. No self interests. It's like the show is saying: "See? Mag Mel is so evil, the only ones who want to work for him were created to work for him! That's super evil! Hate Mag Mel!" You can like it. I don't

Secondly, whilst Sellon has indeed stated to the Brawlers that once she and Anubias have outlived their usefulness to Mag Mel, their Master will end their lives, knowing that he is perfectly capable of doing so, she still shows signs of not wanting to believe in that fact. Both Sellon and Anubias _most certainly_ care about their own lives (with Anubias only willing to risk his life to try and win a fight). Both showed large signs of fear and protest when the time indeed came when they had served their purposes and were about to die. Sellon pleaded desperately with her creator and Anubias even tried to resist the power of Mag Mel eating away at his very being before being ultimately overpowered. Anubias and Sellon are _not_ mindless slaves. They may have been artificially created, but they are just as alive and real as all of the others, with their own personalities, traits and desires. Yes, they were loyal to Mag Mel - he was the one who brought them into being after all - but they both possessed wants, needs and self-interests of their own separate from their Master's vision. Anubias, like many others, desired to prove himself as the greatest battler ever. He had a genuine respect for Dan Kuso which then mutated into a quest for vengeance against the Brawler that was unsanctioned by his Master, so much that Sellon had to remind him of his priorities on occasion. He was actually a solid dude who respected those with strong opinions, even if those opinions were against him, and he even supported his teammates when they initially defied him, rather than put them down. What's more he had a soft spot for Noah and showed some genuine humanity rather than pure evil and blind loyalty to Mag Mel. Sellon is largely a mystery; what is known is that she is serious about brawling. She loves style and grace in battle and lives by honour, but she has a hidden brutality that is rarely seen. Beneath this cool exterior, is a conniving puppet master manipulating the Brawlers into doing her bidding by finding and pointing out their insecurities, being one of the only two characters to have tricked and outsmarted Shun (the other being Ren Krawler). Despite her apparent loyalty to Mag Mel and the matter-of-fact front that she has put up around the thought of her eventual death at the hands of her Master, Sellon has displayed great fear of that fate. As Mag Mel himself has stated, Sellon has an _"intense desire to continue living"_ ; she wants to be able to live like a normal person, and not be resigned to an early and painful death. Anubias and Sellon also have their own dynamic; they're essentially brother and sister, and have their own fierce rivalry as shown throughout their many interactions throughout the season as well as their private thoughts about each other. Despite all of the evil things acts that they commit in service to Mag Mel as well as their own personal desires, neither of them are entirely bad people, as evidenced by how their spirits returned briefly to inspire their old teammates to keep fighting to defeat _"the true evil"_ in the final battle of the war. Yes, the show is indeed showing how evil Mag Mel (Emperor Barodius) is - he _is_ the main villain of the Bakugan series after all, the most evil being in the universe. He created these two lifeforms to serve as pawns to advance his plot to gain the ultimate power and take over the universe, who were destined to be cast back into nothingness once they had served their purpose. He never cared for them, Barodius/Mag Mel only uses people until they are no longer useful, as Nurzak told one of Barodius' servants, Kazarina of the Twelve Orders, in the previous season: _"Are you really so blind, Kazarina? That you can't see that Emperor Barodius is merely using you, just as he has used all of the others? Barodius only cares about taking the power of the Sacred Orb, for himself. And he is FULLY prepared to step on anyone he needs to, in order to get it."_ Anubias and Sellon have no choice but to serve him forever: if they refuse, they die; if they fail, they die; if they can't find any more ways to be useful to him, they _die_ . They just had to accept his way of thinking and be evil. That was probably what motivated Sellon especially to please Mag Mel and fulfil his wishes; if she continually proves herself useful, then her life should be prolonged. It's sad to see that she was wrong about that. Barodius/Mag Mel has been served by countless individuals, who followed him out of respect, fear and very often both, for example, the Twelve Orders. The citizens across the planet of Gundalia either loved him, or cowered in fear and fell in line out of fear of annihilation. Even Phantom Dharak (one of the two most powerful Bakugan in existence), despite feeling incredible rage and an urge to fight, quickly backed down in fear with a submissive tone when the Emperor lowered his voice to a more threatening tone. Most of those who serve him either want to or have no _choice_ but to do so. Anubias and Sellon were born into a situation that they could never escape, where they would essentially slave away for the most evil being in the universe until the time came where he returned them to the dust from which he made them. How would you or anyone else feel to be, as the dying Sellon herself put it: *_"dispatched into oblivion"?_* She and Anubias didn't even get to live for 2 years! It's a cruel fate to have thrust upon someone, regardless of who they are or what they've done.
