I know this is an old video, but that weight slightly forward if you don't have 180 degree turnout as an adult dancer just WORKED MIRACLES for me! I just balanced in passé for at least 10 seconds, which is amazing for me! Thank you!!!!

I always struggled with that forward part at the beginning. Thank you for describing and showing what is meant. I finally understood 😊

My balancing got a lot better when I started doing rétiré from sous-sous in the center. So, fifth position, sous-sous, and then lift one foot, first to coupé, then higher. At first there was a lot hoolahoopig and using my working foot as counter balance for me, but this whole fighting to stay up, undigninfied as it may look, strengthens your muscles and also trains your sense of balance. Also, it teaches you that balancing isn't a static thing but that you're constantly correcting slightly. Balancing at the bar kinda set me up for failure since there I held on until I felt balanced, and then I let go and tried to freeze my posture with the result that I tilted and had to grab for the bar again.

This was super helpful. I've never been super great at balancing and I've always been working on it but I need to put the hustle on getting better balance because I have 8 weeks to qualify for my next advancement and one of the qualities I have to have is being able to hold all my balances for 32 counts. I'm practicing and watching balance videos like crazy
@NatalieDanzaBallet5 жыл бұрын
Wow 32 counts is a lot! That's really impressive! Glad my video could help a bit! :)

Can't wait to try out holding my weight slightly forward. I have very strong ankles, I can balance in most releve positions, but passe releve has ALWAYS been such a struggle and I've never been able to figure out why. Definitely trying this later!

I love how you’ve cut your tights to make your favourite kind of dance shorts! I’d never need to do that here in the UK but I guess in Madrid it’s a must! ☀️ Also your leotard is bloody stunning, where is it from? 🥰

Hey, thank you so much!! Could you do something about strengthening exercises for legs muscles? So how to improve them...also basic exercises with barre, weights, or whatever you know and thinks better...thanks again :)

hello! I have quite a few workout videos on my other channel Natalie Danza. I'll see about making a video on leg strength specifically for ballet. My main tip would be to work hard in your ballet class and always push yourself because you will definitely get stronger legs if you so that! :)

Thank you so much, this video was really helpful! Though I'm still struggling on balancing in releve on one leg since it has always been my problem. Is there a way to improve?
@jane_edits13. Жыл бұрын
Hello! I did watch the video and I have been able to hold the passe on releve enough for double but I seem to fall out of it. I am unsure if it has been stated in the video but I do not know why I still fall out of the turns and my position that I have been practising nearly everyday. I can't seem to hold the position when I am turning. Does anyone have any tips to help me? Thanks!

This was so helpful! But I was also wondering if you could make any video that would help a beginner. I am 12 and I just was able to start ballet because I didn't have enough money before. Now I need as much help as possible to improve. Thanks!
