Richard, I like the way you made the coil form from plywood. Simple, but elegant..73 de AC9JQ

Thank you Dean for the comment. Good the hear from you again. I used TurboCAD to design the coil form and used my scroll saw to cut out the Baltic Birch 1/4 inch (6.35 mm) plywood . This would be a good item for someone with a laser cutter to cut out of acrylic or a 3D printer project perhaps. 73

I build one with a swing coil and connected the ladder line to a ⅝ L 160 meter dipole. It worked amazingly well on 80 :-)

Congratulations on the beautiful construction. I was delighted. In my case, I am still building my doublet antenna. I don't understand spoken English very well, so I ask: How thick are the coils and in my case, with 100W, the capacitor should be bigger, right? As for losses, can you make a comparison with the well-known type Z coupler? Thank you very much for your attention. Strong 73. Evandro Silveira PP5UAI.

Hello Evandro, Thank you for the kind words on my construction. The Link coil (transmitter side) is 10 turns of [#14 AWG 0.0641 inches (1.627mm) dia.] uninsulated copper wire, 6.78uH and is 2 inches (50.8mm) long, 3.25" (83mm) dia. The the Ant coil 34 turns #14 AWG, 20.0uH and is 6.8 inches (173mm) long, 2.5 inches (64mm) dia. Yes, the capacitor may need to be bigger for 100W, with more spacing between the plates because of the higher voltage to prevent HV arching. I am not sure of the losses as compared to the type Z coupler since this is the only coupler I have ever owned or used. Keep up the good work on your doublet antenna, I want to try a doublet in the future, my 80 meter loop is the only antenna I have used on HF so far for transmitting. 73

I think the link coupled balanced matcher is a best way Certainly better than with a balun As the actor Michael Caine would say Not a lot of people know that
