After a similar experience in a short but intense relationship, I have two questions: Why did they have to be that way, and why did we tolerate it beyond our usual limits? Two months post-breakup (brutal discard) and it's totally consuming me. My mother and my brother are full blown narcissists, pure evil, sadistic and with zero empathy. They had control over me to a certain degree. But they were never able to manipulate me the way they wanted to. Then my brother told me several times, that he will make me loose my health, my job, my career, friends and family. A few months later I started to have health issues. It started slowly, but over the time of 2 years I was bedridden and lost everything. I’m wondering if that was a coincidence or if he poisoned me. Then my dad passed away. My sister told me they tried to kill my dad 4 days, before he died a natural death. Then they went overboard with stealing my part of the inheritance I got from my dad, I set up boundaries very clearly and they lost control over me completely. That’s when they have become very nasty! They are obsessed with destroying me completely. Trying to make my life as a bedridden person so bad, hoping I will do suicide. It’s hell on earth for me and I’m just trying to survive somehow.

Don't let their slandering get to you, it is emotional blackmail, we don't conform, obey they rip out our hearts, ok I'll survive and my heart will go back differently, more cautionly towards them but it's their callously towards us which gets me off guard and stings, they're our old buds/family/spouses/have seen what we've suffered in our past, ongoing present, how can they just throw more crap our way?

Yes I wholeheartedly agree that gaslighting is one of the worst things to do to another human.. it’s what has ruined me the MOST.. I am aware now but still carry the severe self doubts in me.. as you say, things that I never thought of before of myself.. came to the surface.. isolation is just as bad because not having regular access to others outside of the relationship just reinforces the gaslighting .. its hand in hand! .. all the tactics complement each other and the narc while they deteriorate the innocent.. Five years on since I left the relationship And I'm still having to deal with a Narcissist As I have children with her I've spent 5 years listening to the advice I have received on this channel And have learned how to deal with my ex partner I try to keep contact as minimum as possible And try to keep it just about the children However this weekend After returning my children on my weekend I find out 5 minutes after dropping them off I've had to turn around and go back and pick my son 10 year old up He is now telling me he doesn't want to go back Because he's having to deal With all the same things that I managed to get away from Sometimes the conversation with my ex partner is like a minefield It's like dealing with Dr Jekyll and Mister Hyde Five years later and I still have PTSD diagnosed Due to being in a narcissistic relationship And something's Telling me It's going to be like that Until my youngest one reaches 18 I have 11 more years to go All I can say is roll on the next 11 years lol And I would like to say thank you Anoushka if it wasn't for you I would never have realised And you gave me the strength to actually leave Thank you

I lived at my family home supposedly that is what it is called and because i was being lied on and constantly ganged up on from certain people i decided to record the passive aggression of my mother just so i got proof that she is deliberately playing mind games since then she caught on and started deliberately bateing me into argument and trued to record me called police on me fir asking where a can of salmon was in the cuoboard where i specifically put it now when the police came my young neohew and niece came to me and said grandma lied to the policeman about you?? The relationship narcissist is a terrible person to come across in your life but there are other narcs that get less mentioned and these are the ones who are your neighbours, frenemies, collegues etc these sly people worm their way into your life to destroy it and some are as hard to shake as a narc spouse, they can be spiteful stalkers who just want to hurt you.
