So the cones go into the hub lock them down with the set screw then take the round ones and space them outside the wheels of the balancer lock them down on the shaft proceed to balance..That is the correct way to set up?

So you balance the rear tire without the sprocket and dampners on the tire?
@workingclasscustomsАй бұрын
We do yes, have seen it done both ways. Generally the weight near the center of the wheel has less effect on balance than the weight on the outside edge. That being said, I wouldn't worry too much about it on or off.

I saw where you put weights on both sides of the rim. Does this matter, or can you put them all on one side?
@workingclasscustoms8 ай бұрын
Great question! It doesn't matter per say, but if you're requiring a lot of tire weights in one area it gives you more area closer to the lower weight spot.

@workingclasscustoms Thanks!! Usually I just let a shop do the dirty work, but now they are all closed in my area. The closest one being 60 miles away, so I just figured I'd start doing it myself. Save some time and $$ since and R1 tends to eat rear tires at an alarming rate.

@kevinthompson4997 those liter bikes love to spend rubber!! Usually faster than we make the money to put it back on! Hopefully we helped out!!

Good job in cutting the in-between because you were not able to balance it right 😃

motion pro wheel balancer. buy once cru once
@workingclasscustoms4 ай бұрын
Need to get my hands on one to review that compared to random amazon brand
@flathead19304 ай бұрын
@@workingclasscustoms I bought the motion pro, I had the amazon one with the one piece long cones. The cone galled onto the aluminum bar. I had to cut it off. total junk. The motion pro balancer is the real deal. well worth the money. self levels and fold up nice and thin.

I got told the back wheel dont need wheel weights I guess they lied to me

Learned some similar info ourselves recently. The front is definitely the more important wheel to balance.
