I saw a lot of gardeners recommend using neem oil solution as preventative it's with garlic and something i don't rememeber but they say it works, And only you add saop if it's a spot treatment, but the neem oil solution is to prevent insects from laying their eggs in and on your plants in the future, there are alot of videos about it i hope it helps you! Also put insect netting, leave your plant open in the morning and put the insect netting on in the evening, i recommend watching james prigioni's video on that he talked about it and said that it solves 99% of insect problems, i will try both of them out in the future when my plants grow, both seem to be the easiest solutions

You definitely inspired me to start my own balcony garden. This was my first year and I managed to harvest kale, okra, cucumbers, Swiss chard and also chili peppers. Thanks for the inspiration 😃

I did not know that the mushrooms growing meant the soil was too moist! That is good information. I like how you rearranged things. Poor Maya doesn't like all the little lights floating around. That pineapple plant is unique!

Gardening always brings peace and joy to each of us. I don't have much space for gardening but a balcony garden is enough for me to happily entertain in the garden every day. Trees always bring me vitality, I forget the pressures of life, immersing myself in nature and understanding the plant world is a wonderful thing. I really like your videos. Wishing everyone with the same hobby of gardening always be happy and cheerful

U said the soil was too moist, we drill holes in all our containers if there are none. But I love your videos. They are so linked to my lifestyle. Also in the process of growing but in England. Strawberry plants r relatively simple and bear fruits. But it’s constant learning what works and doesn’t! Feel like u have given me hope for my poor tomato plant which has dwindled away. So going to look for new leaves ❤️

forgot to mention; I also grow celery in containers. I harvest the leaves also, dehydrate them and make celery salt with them. I also do that with my excess oregano, sage, rosemary. Yummy on roasted veggies or chicken.

I am so happy for you ; even though you had some challenges, the garden is thriving. I know about the birds also; last year, I had chickadees eating my swiss chard and this year, the blue jays are eyeing the grapes and the blueberries. They come and check it out every morning. I let them have their fun; I enjoy giving a bit of blessings to them. I'll wake up one morning and they will all have been picked clean; you'd think they would leave me some. LOL!!

LOL, I would also love to share with them, but I grow on a very small scale-mostly as a learning experience, but still… I wish my building allowed me to put up a bird feeder at least…

@@slowlifestories Maybe you don't need a hanging bird feeder, just a saucer and sunfllower seeds. They'll come and visit for sure

Dear Claudi, I love your balcony garden so much! Yes, we have to face some set backs, but at the end we are happy, aren´t we? :) I have a good season of tomatoes and potatoes, not so good with herbs, there have to be inside, or else they got same strange pests, that nothing helps against it. And YES! The ide idea with the copper protection is genius! Look, many outside gardeners use cooper rings to protect, f.e. their Hostas with it! So why not? I love the way you have used all the space on your balcony and still have the place to sit down and enjoy your hard work. I am fan! Many kisses to Bella and Maya, they are so cute! Cannot wait for your next video! I have a question: How often do you fertilize your balcony plants. I do once a week, I am happy with it, but afraid, if it isn´t too often. Much love from Slovakia. Hi Daniela!! ❤️❤️ I’m glad to hear that your tomatoes and potatoes are doing good! 🍅🥔 and I’m sorry about the herbs… it’s always something 😪 Right now I am fertilizing every two weeks… I am also afraid that once a week would be too much, but I think it all depends on the fertilizer being used… 🤔

I'm always so impressed by how many plants you fit into that small space, and how you make it look so cozy. My balcony is a little smaller so I'm definitely getting inspiration from your design. I just have houseplants though, so no gardening tips from me. lol. Just a wild jungle vibes over here!🪴

I gave up trying to grow anything on my balcony in Spring. Everything ends up dead in June due to pests of any kind. I don't mind birds, but I can't control pests at all between May and July (rainy season here). This year was especially bad because it rained continuously. I'll just focus on my Autumn garden now.
