@@jameslombardo431 you are wrong. It was out of the water too long. Other fish maybe. Not trout. A healthy trout will swim away and head for the bottom, not turn on its side and stay on top.
@jameslombardo4314 жыл бұрын
B K any fish you take out of the water usually has to be revived. Even a healthy trout. I know it was out of the water too long and I know it probably was gonna die, but giving it that extra 2 or three minutes of reviving could make the difference between life or death in any fish

That's awesome! I'm from Australia and I'm seriously in love with your Bald Eagles. Such majestic creatures. We have Wedgetail Eagles here and they're also very beautiful but I have to admit that I love the Bald Eagles more.

I love all Eagles. My favorite is the Golden Eagle. I'm in the state of Kentucky. I recently learned that Golden Eagles pass through during the Winter. They're mainly in the Western part of the United States. Like Idaho, Montana. They prefer the mountains and generally nest on the side of cliffs. They attack bigger prey even deer and mountain goats so they use the height to their advantage I was watching this video where a Golden Eagle swooped in and snatched a goat. It looked like a helicopter coming down. Lol They're bigger and stronger than Bald Eagles. They do coexist in some areas Beautiful majestic very cruel predators. The helix is the kill claw. It's meant to hit the prey and kill it instantly. Unfortunately they don't always get it right. I could talk about Eagles all day

Obviously there's a couple of guys who've never heard of reviving your catch before you let it go. The salmon and trout species respond very well to a little time being lightly held near the tougher part of the tail and gently worked forward and back to get oxygenated water flowing over their gills. But hey, eagles have to feed themselves and their offspring too!
@zeek-sl3gj4 жыл бұрын
People mistake handling all fish like they're the same . Trout are extremely sensitive . It's not like a bass where you can gill grab em in your boat pop the hook then toss em back . If you're catch and releasing trout you should remove hook while they're still partially in the water then let the fish take off when it's ready . I personally have a hand under it's belly while removing the hook and if it takes a bit to pull it and have to revive then at least fish is still getting water and you can slowly move it back and forth till it takes off on its own. JMO. Cheers!

@edgyreggiee3 жыл бұрын
Oh my GOD. I understand there is a proper way to catch and release when you have intent like gathering data for analysis or something but just ripping them out of the water for fun to throw back in IS FUCKING STUPID. It's one of the weirdest things humans do for fun, you can write entire pages on how to do it safely and it doesnt mean that creature isnt scared shitless, cortisol pumping through it's body while your essentially drowning it just to gawk for a minute at it's beauty or whatever. I can be just as hardcore as the next guy when it comes to survival, circle of life I have no problems slicing up bluegill for cut bait so I can catch cats to eat, a reason. Kill invasive fish? Reason. Catch to tag? Reason. But sport fishing? I see as weird cuz I'm not allowed to catch and release raccoons or deer just to look at them , why are fish any different ? It's just my opinion but no matter how ya do it, it's basically animal abuse for mild amusement if your honest with yourself. Imagine i catch a wild animal of any kind and hold it underwater for a second just to see what it looks like wet?! And argue that theres a proper way to do it where it survives, you be like wtf is wrong with you? What's the point
@kittiepride77723 жыл бұрын
On the contrary bald Eagles often die by becoming water logged when they hunt because the fish was too deep, these eagles gotta eat and the males hunt for food for the babies so there is a good chance that fish fed some eaglets.

May I suggest a few pointers on catch and release? Don’t fight the trout longer than you have to, it will wear them out and make it harder for them to revive. Try not to touch it, the protective slime on their body helps them collect oxygen from the water. I usually pull it up where I can get my pliers on the hook. I don’t even touch most of the fish I catch since most of them swim away quickly after being unhooked. When you have to handle the fish and you’re ready to release, revive it by holding it’s tail and move it forward and back so the water circulates through the gills. This will give it the oxygen it needs to revive. Great fish! Congratulations! Fish on.
@ymac72453 жыл бұрын
May I suggest one pointer. How about you leave those creatures to live their life in peace. I understand fishing for sustenance, but just for the fun of it should be illegal world wide. How about next time your walking down the street minding your own business then someone trows a hook through your cheek and drags you through half the city. Then after all that he says "thanks I had my fun with ya, you can be on your way now sir". Doesn't sound much fun now does it
@rebeccasanderson14423 жыл бұрын
Y Mac fishing has many positive things to it actually. It helps with population, it’s common sense what would happen if people didn’t fish. Not very good karma for the environment. Overfishing has to be looked into of course. But this guy isn’t one of those who overfish. It’s the boats that catch large quantities that’s the problem.
@ymac72453 жыл бұрын
@@rebeccasanderson1442 as i said, fishing for sustenance (ie eating the fish and not throwing it back) I have no problem with. The problem I have is with people that need an adrenaline rush and seek for it by harming/disturbing animals. I consider sport fishing in the same category as bull/cock/dog fighting. Its all animal cruelty only somehow sport fishing is commonly accepted
