They'll only allow Teak wood smuggled out of Myanmar by demanding huge kick backs. Similarly at China/ Myanmar border. The Teak forests in Myanmar are depleting at an alarming rate. Similarly, the Sandal wood forests were decimated, you cannot find anymore.

This town was originally a Tamil settlement. During 2nd World War many Tamilians fled to India by foot from Burma, Malaysia etc. Fleeing Japanese occupation. After 2nd World War those Tamilians want to return to Burma/Myanmar but they were unable to do so because military rule has taken over Myanmar and Tamilians who were Burmese citizens during British rule got stuck there. And the govt. Of Manipur give that land to Tamilians. Back in 70s it was only Tamil. But now it is flooded with people from all around India and Bangladesh
