Review whatever you want too! I enjoy the Budget items/meals you look at. I can't buy most of them, but it does remind me how important items like these could be! When I was younger (old man waffle now incoming!) the four pack of Chicken and Mushroom pies from Tescos were great. Only 99p back then, think maybe 2005? Bloody fantastic, with some cheap tin of veg on the side! Love your reviews, honest opinions of food people buy! Sadly the nearest IceLand to me is about 900 miles!! We have Aldi, and Lidl here, but they all vary on location. I live in France for the 900 miles!!. (Old man waffle has ended!)

That meal looked quite spiffing to me, Gareth! All good stuff, and when it came to the Gravy, it looked perfect, nice and thick, Herby and Spicy, the sort of Gravy I prepare for all my Home-cooked meals every day! It probably started as 275 ml, was converted to US traditional units in China and rounded, then packaged in the UK and converted back to metric with further rounding. The reality is that is food, not a chemical manufacturing process, and is not critical. I see this often.

I was very worried when you started the gravy before the chicken 😢 but let's face it you can't replicate KFC gravy it's simply divine personally I would have chucked the whole lot in the Ninja at once. Good review keep em coming

I remember Thai chickens looking very large when there, nothing like ours, so probably go a long way. The bees also larger but had a big spike coming out of them, horrendous. The stray dogs are a concern too, some without 4 legs howling away in packs for no apparent reason around Buddhist Temples.

The reason why these cheaper frozen/package meals dont use British chicken is because if they used British chicken they would have to be 4 times the price. Chinese/overseas chicken manufacturers have cheaper labour costs ( relative to the cost of living in China ) so can sell to British food manufacturers for much cheaper than it would cost from a British farm. Its not just as simple as saying 'just use British chicken' without being prepared to pay the price the British farmer would expect. This price would then be passed on to the consumer and most of the British public wouldnt be prepared to pay £15 for a package meal just because the chicken comes from a British farm.

A good food product from Aldi and I wouldn't feel uncomfortable forking out £4 for this meal, you certainly get a decent portion of southern fried chicken strips, nuggets and chips for the money; gravy looked good as well. I could tell Gareth thoroughly enjoyed the food going by the satisfying "mmmmm" noises he was making after taste sampling the chicken and chips with gravy, lol 😂 These McDonald's, Burger King and KFC style fakeaway meals are becoming quite popular and all the big named supermarkets are trying to recreate their own versions which I think people out there are liking and appreciating what they're doing. This munch box fakeaway could easily serve 1 person, if you were to share the meal with another person, I don't think that it would be as filling once the chips, chicken strips and nuggets were divided equally, be more of a tasty snack than anything. I think Aldi could have put a few more chicken strips and nuggets inside the box, then I'd definitely consider it a better munch box for 2 persons; but putting that aside £4 is a fair price for this food product which I think will sell very well.

I don't trust ANY FOOD that comes from China, so they would have cheated me with that UK stamp on the box. Mind, I am partial to KFC now and again so I've probably eaten quite a lot of Chinese Chicken. I'm 75% of the way to perfecting my own Chicken Nuggets and with Home Made Chips deep fried in Dripping, you can't beat 'em. Also Ketchup, not gravy, That's for Sunday Roasts or Sausage & Mash. Um,Gravy is not served with fries/chips here,unless you request it as a side.Tenders and fries are served with a dipping sauce.KFC has their own KFC Sauce along with more generic ones.Also that looks like no chicken gravy I have ever seen,that is usually more golden.Gravy is served typically with bone-in fried chicken and mashed potatoes,which KFC does.This reminded me of Canadian Poutine more than American Fried Chicken.
