Thank you for sharing your story @baldmanjapan! I used Rogaine for awhile then stopped and just started getting shorter haircuts. Now I buzz cut my hair to a number 3, grew out my beard, and started lifting. Glasses and stylish hats help as well. I’m losing my hair and don’t care anymore. I’ve embraced it!

I'm not even bald and this is the second time I'm waiting this episode. This guy tells such a great and honest story. This is a story of mental health and dealing with a crisis. What a great conversation.

It's not a crisis. It's easy to shave your head. I have all my hair but genuinely found it to be easier shaving it cause personally I think it looks better. Only time it would be a crisis is if someone had a deformed head lmao.

@@zorls Literally you just proved the point he was talking about on the video, lol. You don't understand what balding people go through and how shitty they feel if they have good hair all their life and dont want to go bald. When you've had good hair and people complemeting you on your hair and looks, it can really destroy a man when he starts to lose his hair. It's like losing your identity and you don't know who you are supposed to be anymore. You feel ugly and that no woman can ever see you attractive again.

Dude I'm almost crying on your story, not because I'm sad but because I'm kind of happy. I have been through this phase before where i felt very uncomfortable with my hair. I shaved it off a couple of times. then i let it grew back. it's still pretty thin and I don't like it that much atm. Considiring shaving it all off because I know it doesnt look bad. But i can totally relate to all stories that are being told here and for everyone I'm really happy they like the way they look after shaving. its that little smile that everybody has when the hair is off. Guy looks really good bald so cheers man. Much love

Incredible video. I'm still on my balding journey and i can empathize with many parts of Joe's story. Episode by episode, these videos make me more comfortable with the idea of going bald, but this one has impacted me more than any other. When I finally get to my balding crossroads, I'm going to rewatch this episode for reassurance. Thank you Harry for creating content like this

I'm sure a lot of us can relate to the father being bald part, me I thought that skipped me until just recently when I got to like 33 and thankfully I didn't stress much about it. Younger guys are the ones that suffer the most since they have to deal with a lot more judgement like in high school for example so I hope they stay strong.

I'm still in the hat stage lol. Can't get out of it. Left a long term relationship last year - a relationship in which I went from a full head of hair to norwood 6 (over 10 years). Have had loads of positive interactions with women since, and a few dates, but all with my hat on. It's kind of a double crutch, because it hides my baldness, but it also takes the chance of physical romance off the cards - so my rizz is weirdly off the scales. With my hat on I'm genuinely at a weird kind of peace. I like getting female attention "from a distance". I'm 6ft 5, ripped and doing well with work, but sadly my skin tone is uneven on my face, I have a large forehead and large ears. It's like the holy trinity of bad features for bald men. Majority of the men who look tremendous and confident on your videos have either perfect skin, smaller ears or a smaller forehead. That's not to feel sorry for myself - it is what it is. I just wish wearing a hat was seen as a more legitimate "cope" for baldness, since there really is a hat for every occasion, and I don't see why it's any different to any other item of clothing.

I do also have plans to upload a “beijings best barber” video here which includes a street shave but also more about a trip I took to Beijing 👍. As for China itself. I will probably do some other countries for a while before more China. Beijing vid will be my last China one for a while unfortunately.

I'm 61. At 27 I started getting those doll hair plugs at Bosley, high tech at the time. You had to go back at least 4 times to fill in between the rows. My inner voice yelled at me to get out of the chair just before that first procedure, but tragically I didn't. For almost 30 years, I used a hair dryer, hair spray, and those colored hair fibers to strategically place my hair. It took a dirt bike accident & freak'n paralysis from the chest down for me to shave my head!! Why? Because I was stuck in the hospital & hospital bed for 9 weeks and had no choice! Yet that liberation enabled me to not only get married for the first time, but 2nd (& hopefully final) time as well!

Unfortunately rogaine doesn’t stop.ir slow hair loss. It grows hair faster and even thickens each induvidual shaft but if its scheduled to fall out and shrink it finally will. Propecia/finestride works on slowing or halting hair loss. Too many still dont get that. They think rogaine will do the trick alone. It won't

The funny thing is that all the bald adepts start to grow a beard. And this character is no exception. The question arises: if you are no longer afraid or ashamed of baldness, why do you need a beard? No other reason than to shift the focus away from your skull and partially hide your lack of hair.))

Harry, would you ever consider doing some videos to de-stigmatize the "keep and style your thinning hair" option? It's great that so many people are happy with shaving their heads all the way down to the skin but there's a huge perception out there that that's literally the ONLY option and that doing anything else means that you're deserving of the greatest possible social condemnation. You have a very big platform and you are now part of the "no thanks, I'm keeping it" club, and the fact that you look so great with the particular option you've chosen (and that you have such a big platform) puts you in a unique position to help push back against this way overly dictatorial and irrational (and actually quite new) social rule. You can tell by all of the compliments that you get on your current look in the comments that on an individual basis people are still willing to make exceptions, which in itself is enough to prove that the instinctively understood command that everyone shave it all off is overly broad. It's long passed time that those with thinning hair be allowed the social room to grow and style their hair any way they please without being inundated with near universal childish and unthinking social approbation, all based on an arbitrary and absurd (and artificial) social taboo. Plus it would be nice not to have to see young men with extremely thick heads of hair but just a slightly receded hair line feeling like for some insane reason they are obligated to immediately go the "wet shave" route or get a damn hair transplant. Anyway, just a suggestion. I think it could be really interesting to see the feedback and the eventual social effect online if you did a video like that.

@bookshelf1195

I think that's only really a problem at high body fat percentage. Fat tends to bloat the face and make the face sort of nebulous as all the features just get overrun, while at like 15% you see your own unique facial structure. Combine that with facial hair, eyes and fashion sense and you can easily look striking and different.
