Bigboy's Chew toy to cast enlarge on yourself, Sacrifical dagger from act 1 for easy way to down your hp to 50% and use helm of grit, the ring from act 1 that gives you bless when you heal yourself dont remember the name (you heal yourself with whole of body and the armor) and the vulnerability amulet for double fist damage or the paralysis one for 100% crit chance. And for final get Hags hair +1 wisdom and Mirror of loss +2 wisdom for 22 total wisdom + Cloud giant elixir for 27 str. This is how i finished the game as Lone Wolf Monk on tactician. xD

I'm in act 2 as an open palm monk destroying everything with the gloves and boots that give reverberation, the headpiece that gives arcane synergy and a thunder quarterstaff👌

@@Darthendir The one you choose from a pool of 3 items when complete the mission. The quest is saving one aristocrat from a building in fire at the north part of Act 1 map.

I'm not sure it is it may be Cacophony they are talking about which does thunder damage not the one that adds lightning charges. I use Cacophony on my Monk up into Act 3 still! It's an awesome staff.@@braindeadhoovy2562

You can also get 20 temp hit points by picking the book in Elminster's vault and remove the curse with a cleric spell

I'd presume you wouldn't get the benefits from the druid power then, since you can only have temporary hitpoints from one source and the largest one is the one you'd have (I assume, could be that a new one always removes the 20 from the book). Regardless it wouldn't give you 20hp if the coding is anywhere correct. Either you'd have 20 temp hp and no necrotic on attack or 8 temp hp and necrotic on attack.

Let me check, I have the book and am running the spores, I'm pretty sure you keep the extra 20hp and as long as you still have the temp health you get the extra necrotic damage

These do indeed stack, so on long rest you get the 20hp. When you use spores you get the bonus necrotic damage and you keep the 20 temp health from the book instead.

Good, that's interesting as that's how I thought it should work. However armor of agathist doesn't seem to be able to top up off the illithid ward power that adds temp hp, so I thought they just acted as though you lost all temp hp then add the new one.

Let's be clear here, raw spores don't work on unarmed attacks and should only for as long as you have "these temporary hit points" and since "you can only have temporary hit points from one source" It shouldn't work as a combination, but it does and is either a bug or a homebrew on top of another homebrew (working on unarmed is one, it working without its own temp hp is another, I guess they decided to code "if you have temp hp it works" not "if you have temp hp from this it works").

Thanks for the build, I’m on my second play through and I’m running it with armor of the sporekeeper. I’m a little more glassy, but I’m using the dark urge cloak and going invisible after each kill really helps. The haste spores from the armor hastes everyone making my whole party super OP 😎 it counts as a bonus action too 🤷🏻‍♂️😝

the durge cape only makes you invisible on the first kill of a turn, since you will most turns be able to deal dmg enough to kill at least two people, it won't help you defensively that much. The haste from sporekeeper only last for that turn, it's not real haste. Btw this druid version is just a downgrade to the fighter one.

@@Baphominx there’s actually a bug, you can cast haste every battle instead of just once every long rest. You need to work around the cape. Though I can switch it out if needed. I’ve seen someone do the barb version too. Monk is just too OP

Ascended Astarion makes the best Monk/Rogue. He gets some more passive damage and a 10 hp heal, if he kills something, that doesn't use up any actions or bonus actions. Plus his ascended bite if he ever gets low somehow. I was doing the 6 monk/4 rogue/2fighter build with ascended astarion and already got my flurry tooltip to go up to 98 dmg. On tactician, the last fight was trivial, I didn't need to summon a single ally through any part of it. Paladin/Warlock Wyll, my custom sorc/wiz, my custom bard and Astarion just walked through everything. Throw an elixir of bloodlust on Astarion and he just mows through half the enemies in a round.

@@egorpetrov2877 I think it's better to use the gloves with 1d10 force damage and heal on unarmed attacks personally. You can always chug elixirs for strength, or even just rely on your ASI

@@dominicbadal5680btw: you can use the mirror in house of grief on each character. may require some save scumming to pass the DCs, but can get a permanent +2 to one stat (just remove curse the -2) on each of them.

Did you know that you can have one of the hirelings (100g) spec into Cleric and cast Warding Bond on your party/char - then leave them in camp and the Ward will stay? This will give warded chars resistance in all damage types.

I made a similar build but went 6 Hands Monk 3 Thief Rogue 3 Wildheart Barbarian. The +2 damage from Rage is comparable to the 1d6 Necrotic you're getting from druid, but Wild Heart Bear gives resist to all damage types which really skyrockets survivability.

Not to mention you can deal with actually taking a hit or 2. (also if you don't care about the resistance you can go tyger and get sweeping + bleed with your main action attacks)

@@final_catalyst I went through most of the game using Shattered Flail, Periapt of Wound Closure, and Bear Rage. I only took half damage, and healed for 12hp every turn.

That's my build. It's great. I have it on Karlach. Given the amount of times monk can hit, it really pops off with her soul coin ability. The only problem with the build is that it is feat light. Only 1 feat.

@@KSSyu13 You're not wrong, and that feat almost has to be tavern brawler. I ended up putting 8 in CHA and INT to boost my DEX/STR, and WIS. Later on I gave mine (also Karlach) the CON necklace to replace Periapt of Wound Closure since you also get Gloves of Soul Catching around this time to bolster healing. I think there's a pre and post House of Hope version of this build.

There's no reason to powergame and plan a character out like this for level 12 with endgame legendary gear and other powerful items. By the time you get to level 12 and have all the gear to make this build, the game is practically over. A good build guide is creating a strong build for the level 4-8 range. Something strong in Act 1 and Act 2. Act 3 doesn't matter, you're already overpowered with any class once you're level 10-12.

This video is intended for someone who understands the basic mechanics of the game and is doing fine but wants to delve deeper and optimize their gameplay. There are already tons of great guides out there explaining the game's mechanics, class features, and offering help through most challenging parts of the game. I suggest you check those out.

Try playing while keeping in mind what the game tells you in act 1, you have maybe 7 days before you become Japanese. That means if you've done more than 7 rests by the end of act 2 you've failed. And assuming you're sane you don't trust an Illithid and keep those rests at 7 max for the entire game - you gots to know when to use those slots.

The "7 days" thing is only when your characters are still babies in the stories and don't understand what's actually happening to them.

tbh if you dont have level 12 and all the gear this build is weak basically most of your damage comes from the items and i think you would get maybe even better results just from going monk/fighter

If you pick a multiclass at lvl 3 you can't get a feat at lvl 4, also dumping stats cripples you majorly early game, do not follow a build relying on being in Act 3.

But overall YOU are absolutly correct. I was trying to max out Priest-Charges,..and by that come to the result, i need at least 3x 1 point for the modfier to get out max possible charges. So... 6 charges per day or per long rest extra Bonus action/atack just by that. If i would go only for 2 feats instead 3,..max would be here 5, so 1 less Bonus atction which is lit. like 2-4 missing subClass Lvls to get it in, which would be a waste to begin with.

Fighter monk is pretty OP all the way from beginning to end though. You can start with fighter for good armor and a weapon, if you beat the cambion get a good weapon that'll carry you then start getting armor, but put most your levels into monk. So you can do damage with the sword then do fury of blows and unarmeds as bonuses. Then once you start getting passive damage and your fury of blows evolves you can drop weapons all together to have an armor and shield build that's hard to hit but do massive damage with your hands. By the time you're at the forge things are already broken because you can do admantine splint armor and shield, put on the helm you get from the boss to have full admantine armor and basically be super hard to kill. It only gets more busted when you get to act 3 and swap them out for Baldur's helm, Gloves of hope, the legendary shield from Shadowhart's quest, and the armor from Raphael. You're practically going around with everyone missing you every shot and you get extra attacks from fighter and can use the heart skill that restarts your turn from fighter, use wholeness of body to get multiple fury of blows every time, and still have 3 punches per turn while the gloves do force damage and heal you but enemies can hardly hit you. Going half illithid and dumping all the worms will also make your character OP. I was basically going around fighting entire armies solo.

@@maximumcockage6503 Hehe Ya so did i with my Paladin + Celeric Tempest Domain using Electric Charges and combined them with my Spirit Guardians radiant dmg, which are combined by the gloves *"Gloves of Belligerent Skies"* which allows to combine electric & randiant dmg to create this: _"Thunderous Conversion: When the wearer deals Thunder Damage, Lightning Damage, or Radiant Damage, inflict 2 turns of _*_Reverberation_*_ upon the target(s)."_ *Reverberation:* Affected entity has a *-1 penalty* to Strength, Dexterity, and saving throw *per remaining turn.* When the entity has 4 or more turns of Reverberation, it takes 1~4 Thunder damage and possibly falls prone. The condition is removed afterward. _If you dun see it:_ > 1x 2 Turns adds Radiant dmg by Guardians > 1x 2 Turns adds Electro dmg by water AoE > = 4x "Reverberation" turns = Get lost foe and go prone xD > If this foe stands up and moves just 1 step,..he gets DIRECTLY again 4 full stacks,..BLUBB back prone xD > I would say,...the nemesis of any Monk ^^ I lit. jump mid in or front, drop water on the ground, i i already start bc of my boots to electrify the water ground. Any foe trying to reach me,..gets stuned,..those trying to JUMP into me, meet my Radiant Guardians which throw them for 2 rounds on the ground,... i am lit. a fk'ing Electro Duck with golden Angels throwing all back into the electro pool, flat down, while i also diped to gain Arcane Ward ^^ one of my first *working* Setups like intented to. Btw. imo the stronges Magical Beeings in a fight are lit. *Wizzards of the Abjuration School* You can have the stronges fk'ing spells AoEs...but they simple say NO Cha-Ching...your spell was blocked,.. O.O xD Most OP Mage Class to combo in with "this typ" of Paladin i made ;) *Remember:* Tempest Domain allows you to deal MAX electric Dmg! no mor 12-80 nanana ONLY 80,..and if you crit,..its straight then 160,..and if you have a Orc,..its 240 dmg lol but i went with Dragon - Blue Dragon to gain on start electric immunity and need only 1 ring to add again electric immunity to be 100% immun to electric dmg and can save sit in my nightmare pool ;) PS: Go inside the game,... create a rank 5 water AoE,...see the AoE range?! good LUCK ^^ You can make entire HALL grounds electricfied with that, could be arround 40-80 meter radius xD Also droping ice makes all slipery slip and then back to water but with a lower rank like 3, so the outskirt is ice and innercircle is elctro-water ^^ So fk'ing fun to watch lol

​@@maximumcockage6503- you don't need the campion sword to carry you. It's literally the same damage as a normal greatsword that is permanently dipped in fire. Get a candle, dip your greataxe in it, and you already have more damage than that greatsword. Any +1 dipped in fire will automatically beat it.

in act 1, in aunty ethel's shop, there are 3 bottles of hill giant strength that will increase your strength to 21. And she restocks these elixirs every long rest, so long as you don't venture into the swamp and start her questline. So you can dump your strength, and just drink these elixirs, so you can have high con/high dex, and good Wis, while also maintaining 21 strength for insane tavern brawler dmg.

yep and if you want to go higher you can always go for cloud giant little longer to spam from merchants but definitely op even if you dont use the items dont degrade mod which allows infinite potion use etc

Will elixirs of hill giant strength, the act 3 gauntlet of hill giant strength, and the bracers of dexterity, and Lump's Crown of Intellect, it's actually feasible to just dump all your stats into WIS, make CON your secondary, with the leftovers going to INT and CHA. You'll then end up with something like 21 STR, 18 DEX, 18 CON, 17 INT, 20 WIS, with CHA being your dump stat.

4:31 you’re making wholeness of body out to sound like it does more than it really does. Once per day … spend an action to heal, get half your ki points back, and also for three rounds get an extra bonus action. Three rounds of out of whole day. I don’t know about you but I long rest about once per level. I’m just not excited about three rounds of something out of a whole level.

@@IKeepGettingFlagged I went through the Rafael fight last night like it was nothing. The game is basically on easy mode unless you make a build specifically to be inefficient. It’s worse if you make a good build. It’s worse if you collect the top tier gear. Trivializing the game is easy. If you’re good at the game there’s no need to rest constantly. I took a long rest early in level 10. I’m level 12 now and I’ve still got two short rests left.

But … if you’ve done house of hope .. dude the game is over. There’s just not much of anything left unless you made a real intentional bee line for the house of hope and ignored everything else. Then you get … a few hours of this … out of a 100-150 hour play through. A build that is fun at level 12 when the game is over is neat but .. does it matter? How is this when you’re leveling up? That’s where people spend the bulk of their time.

(Open palm) Monks are great in BG3 because they have really good itemization available from act 1 onwards, you just have to go STR if you want any damage. Monk in BG3 is like a better barbarian (mostly due to itemization). Early game is admittedly terrible because 1 crit and your guy goes down but that's true for any class. Once you hit level 5 the combat will no longer hold any challenge on tactician. (Which is why I have a bunch of mods including AI controlled party members, you never know what those crazy kids are going to do).

@@Syaniiti I didn’t find the requirement for a monk to be strength based to be true. The game isn’t very hard. You don’t have to do 20 damage per swing at level 5 to get through it. 1D6+4 times three attacks every single round is perfectly fine. And if you open with flurry of blows to get advantage it’s even better. Plus there is plenty of gear to enhance them. Tavern brawler isn’t a requirement. It IS certainly over powered for a monk. But, you don’t have to be over powered to play. Right, level 5 monk using a quarterstaff is 2D8+8+1D6+4 (24.5) without using any resources. A greatsword user is mostly 4D6+8 (22) and sometimes they get an extra 2D6+4 (33 sometimes). Monk damage is just fine. That’s with nothing crazy going on and no meaningful gear. Now, if that monk goes tavern brawler it becomes harder to calculate because it also increases accuracy which means more damage over time. But that same monk with 18 in their attacking attribute would be 3D6+24 (33). It’s certainly more, but the game isn’t hard enough that it’s required or even needed. When you make an over powered build for tanking or damage or healing … just remind yourself that you’re actively trying to make the game easier.

@@zero11010 Monks are trash compared to other classes in 5e. Sure you can play the game with 8 in all your main stats and you'll do fine even on tactician, you can play it on level 1 and never level up and you'll do fine. You can use hours reading wikis for all the best gear and where to find them and then rush said gear. All of those are fine ways to play I don't understand why you're so negative about the way someone who you don't even know has fun with his copy of the game. I personally like to mod the game to be as far away as 5e as I can and it might actually be playable, once the QOL and custom hirelings get implemented (or someone figures out how to mod them).

@@Syaniiti tactician isn’t that much harder and a pure monk would work just fine even without using the tavern brawler cheese. It’s very simple to put the game on easy mode and finish boss fights in a couple rounds. You either need to not know what you’re doing or TRY to keep things from getting out of hand with your builds. And if you do WANT the game to be super easy that’s fine. But, let’s not pretend that the easy difficulty setting is the only way to do that. Play the game how you want. But, don’t be fooled into thinking that anything in tactician mode means it’s hard. Play in tactician with modest builds with no multiclassing. Don’t abuse fight mechanics. Don’t abuse general gameplay to trivialize things. The game can actually be challenging and fun and rewarding. There’s more to the game than “I just did the Rafael fight in 3 rounds! Yay!” It’s an achievement. For sure. But, it’s not challenging and there’s generally more reward you get from a thing you worked harder to achieve … same in game loot.

Nice vid and appreciate your work with these vids in general but lets be real, the +2 in druid isnt strong then pure TB Strength monk. The +8 health that the symbiote falls off in 1 attack. Sure if u play for 1 tapping people, but IN GENERAL. It wont be up alot at all, since you havent commited to druid and it scales with druid levels as u mentioned. But it also costs an action to re apply in combat. Its just too slow, the concept really had me going for a while when i saw the patch notes, but it just isnt worth the +2. I think if you really wanted it you should go 7 druid 2 fighter 2 monk , 8 Druid 4 monk. Or even 7 druid 5 monk. Also like I dont think any of this is strong, im just saying that if u wanna play a monk druid combo , it should be more beneficial to go more into druid then monk. I think monk and druid are both classes you have to commit to much into for them to be good, so mixing both is a problem

Yeah, I wish Symiotic Entity was considered Wildshape and could benefit from Wild Strike and similar bonuses. It uses Wildshape charges, so why give it the same bonuses?

Agreed, this is a build I tried to make work after patch 1 and I'm glad it's usable but compared to other monk builds the 2 levels of druid is too steep a cost for 1d6 extra damage on hit.

Once you finish the necromancy book it is a little more viable. On long rest you get +20 and keep the extra damage so it's a bit better

What would you recommend doing then? What is the pure str monk you speak of? Go to level 9 with max str and TB feat? No multiclass at all? Maybe one dip to fighter at the start for armor?

fun fact, use a hireling to buff people in your group with warding bond. He may be dead when you come back to rest again, but withers can rez them immediately for 200 gold. Can also do freedom of movement, longstrider and protection from poison if you wanna go all out, then swap him out of the group. Prot from poison is a bit overkill, but freedom of movement/longstrider are nice.

Honestly you are still beast with a 16/18 or 18/20 str/dex build and still get some natural AC from the monk perks. Without potions and over 20 stats, the build gets +15 to attack and damage. But even prioritizing dex you can still get a +13. Even a +11 ratio is still pretty strong as long as you wear the boots, giving AC and Damage with a high WIS. This gives you more survivability without having to dump some of the better items into 1 character. Plus giving up the min/max of a full STR build just gives you a more versatile gameplay experience since with high WIS you can get the most out of your Druid spells. I played with this build with Jaheira with 4 Monk/8 Druid and it was a really fun hybrid caster. She could punch 15-30+ unbuffed so I could just run in and use my attack and bonus/flurry or I could play around more like casting Lightning Bolt/Call Lightning and then smacking any survivors with Flurry. Great action economy overall without sacrificing the core stats and concepts of the classes or turning yourself into a bit of glass cannon melee until near end game. Great for those roleplayers too. I plan to go 6/6 my next playthrough on my main character and basically make Raiden from Mortal Kombat or a pseudo Way of the Elements/Avatar Monk with some CRAZY Elemental spells.

I mean, it is in combat. Either hit hard or use a control ability to remove the enemy completely (hitting for all their life until the control breaks). And considering the amount of rules for combat in D&D opposed to let's say, social interaction - the number of skills compared to the number of weapons even WOTC thinks D&D is about combat and therefore hitting the highest number.

Yeah these kinds of bizarre abuses of end-end-game abilities and stacking almost proves Larian right that they put the cap on level 12. It is inherently incompatible with people who would actually .. y'know, play the game as an actual story? I admit to savescumming for certain events that I truly do not feel like playing out in that way (some events where a neutral party suddenly goes hostile because of some dialog choice that did not indicate that at all), but combat/gear wise I just play the game as intended. I get it, metagaming some bizarrely strong character is kinda cool. But don't start complaining that the game is "too easy" when you look up guides on how and where to get certain items, stat increases etc. I expect that Larian did not see it coming that getting Ethel's Hair was going to be the de-facto route for many.

I'd suggest to complete Astarion Origin's questline (+1d10 Necrotic damage) and to exchange you Level 4 Rogue with 1 level of Cleric: War Domain for War Priest (When you use the Attack action, you can make one weapon attack as a bonus action a number of times equal to your Wisdom modifier), which allows you to use Fury of Blows as a Bonus Action (useless if you have Mind Sanctuary from Illithid powers)

Flurry of blows already is a bonus action, and depending on coding (and wording) an unarmed attack is not a weapon attack. So you'd be able to not attack once with a bonus action instead of attacking twice with a bonus action. Not sure if worth. This is why monks want bonus actions since a single bonus action is 2 attacks, same as an action no illithid powers required (illithid powers would remove the ki-point drain though).

I posted this a few days ago. At some point it appears they hot fixed or patched that exploit. You lose your wisdom modifier to AC if you equip a shield.

Well, first if you use Withers to purchase the halfling bard hireling and then respec them into level 1 knowledge domain cleric and level 2+ (all the remaining levels) in transmutation wizard making sure to take medicine at level 1 as a skill is a start (the halfling bard is so that you reroll any 1s you get on the medicine check). Next, buy all the ingredients needed to make the cloud giant potions and use the hireling to craft all potions. This allows you a good chance of crafting two potions instead of just one each time you craft them. Finally, you can use the level up merchant restock method to continuously buy the ingredients for the potion by visiting that merchant each time you level up. Make liberal use of Withers to constantly go from whatever level you are currently back down to level one. When leveling back up, be sure to visit the merchant at each level rather than just going back up in one go.

I think unarmed attacks with a shield looks fine, its the flurry of blows that dont make sense. If I hold a shield in one hand I definitely can still punch your face with the other. Just cant do a 1-2 combo.

Unarmed attack is not necessarily a punch, can be a kick. or a headbutt, or a knee, or an elbow, or whatever. The movement speed effect of monks shouldn't be active if you're holding a shield (or wearing armor) if it is then that's yet another bug.

@@Syaniiti It's not a bug. "Your movement speed increases by 3m while you are not wearing armor or using a shield." Here's the thing though. The 3m that you lose is offset by having your race as a Wood Elf, thus negating that penalty as you gain 3m movement. It's a way to cheese the limitation on it and then anything that boosts movement further just makes the build that much more powerful. And yes I know the movement bonus gets a lot better as you gain in monk levels, but he's multiclassing and therefore not getting the full benefits from it anyway

Way easier ways to do as much/more damage than this without having to rely on haste and a small pool of temp hit points. Did 398 damage in using only 2 attacks on a pretty standard build of ranger/rogue granted thats using specialty arrows but without that can still do upwards of 250 quite easily. There are simpler ways to make OP characters than this

Everyone uses Astarion for some broken multiclass as I see) This build feels too broken imo don't know if it will give any challenge and joy in fights. But maybe it's just my personal point of view. Did 4 rogue / 5 ranger / 3 fighter with longbow for him myself, but it doesn't quite catch up with this biuld. Great video after all!

Fantastic build. but one thing i am confused about with this is the fact you said you have 'fly' from the druid class. I dont have that option at all i cant see it anywhere and have built the same. any ideas? cos without it it makes it a little less mobile. I have put amulet of misty stop on mine to help a bit more.

something else i am confused about is how high your AC is i am just at end of act 2 and have to obviously modify it a little. Using Graceful Cloth chest piece for 2 extra dex, am i am unarmoured and my stats are 18 12 14 8 16 8. now unarmoured def is supposed to increase your AC by wisdom modifier but my AC is only at 13 while using a +2 shield, Even if i take the shield off its only 14. So i dont get it because surely it should be higher.

There's a way to get infinite cloud giant elixirs? Could you elaborate? I couldn't find anything about this searching online. Does anyone here know? I'm not sure where you misspoke because you said 'hill giant' but then you said 'buff strength to 27' and also showed the cloud giant elixir on screen. Obviously infinite hill giant elixirs is easy, but cloud giant elixirs are a lot more work, so I would be very interested if someone knows how to get infinite cloud giant elixirs easily? I have only heard of gnome in myconnid selling a single cloud giant finger every few rests, which is not feasible because it takes like 8-10 rests just to get 3 cloud giant fingers to make one potion. Or running around a bunch of different vendors in act 3 to see if they spawn a single cloud giant potion, again, very random and not reliable.

have an endgame question about the build. why is the shield so important or, why arent you using the 2 handed sword "baldurian giantslayer" ive tested out the giantgrowth classaction and it does stack with unarmed attacks even though the description says it would be only for armed attacks besides of that, if you hit an enemie with the sword with your first move, it has the passive effect to double the Strenght modifier wich than can be used for an unarmed attack combo

thinking of trying 6 open hand monk, 2 spore druid and 4 swords bard. looks like lots of extra attack options both ranged and melee? Also, the other flourish options seem like they could be useful. Lots of damage modifiers from wisdom as well with manifestations. Only downside is not many temp hitpoints from circle of spore, so could respec out of bard if that class is not useful.

6+4 is 10, not 12? even the 6 are just 3 attacks..and build base you have real 2 attacks from your action and 2 from your bonus actions. one bonus action from the monkskill and 2 attacks from the haste-action. both haste as a potion and the monk skill are active for 3 rounds. still, it is broken if you compare it to a OP mage build with like 5x 50 dmg. on single target in a round...the monk hits different. barbar gives resi and 2 dmg for unarmed attacks. with rage..and provides more hp then druid. so if feats are not a problem, because you wear armor and are fine with like 16 dex and 8 strength, you could get 17 wisdom + 1 point from act 1 and bring it to 18. this would mean 18 base ac without barbar but going druid..19 because of the feat and 1-6+1 dmg instead the 2 from the barbar rage. vs 20 ac if you go 6 monk, 3 thief and 3 barbar without any armor^^ + 50 resi vs everything then psychic and a real huge movement. i will test both ways. but, a eldritch knight+barbar+thief may be stronger with throwing weapons. and because of using a range weapon a bit more flexibel...the 3 char in your party should be a wizard cleric, who uses sanctuary to provide haste and calls summons while healing, anybody knows if ward breaks sanctuary? i mean, you dont attack..they just walk alone into it..isnt your fault^^ and the 4 char may be a machinegun bard with mass cc, or just a normal fighter with ward and adamantium plate+ heavy armour feat and the pike. just as cc to prevent the boss from running away etc.

I just realized all these hyped up multiclass builds completely nerf themselves by not getting as many feats. Your build would only get 2 feats at level 12. My monk's level 9 now and has managed to ASI _and_ get Tavern Brawler. As a pure monk, I can still get the Ki Resonance feature, pump 3 different targets with ki, then explode them all for an extra 3d6 damage each. I think that's worth losing the 1d6 extra damage from the circle of spores druid feature.

Im sure someone said it already but for the Helmet of Grit, its easy to get going if you pre-fight cast Transfuse Life (if you're at an odd number, might need a party member to slap you once). Also, with the Cloud Giant Strength and Wind movement, you can jump super far, all over as many times as you want (only 3 meters are spent per jump). So jump around punching with 4 flurries. I like to pair that with Nyrulna and throw 4 times for aoe bursts, too (throws count for extra attack so two actions means 4 throws). Edit: oh forgot, also add in Phalar Aluve for its scream to add 1d4 to each hit. Edit: wait wait I forgot about rhapsody, use that in the offhand for a constant +3 to attack rolls, damage, and spell DC. So start Phalar, use scream prefight, turn based into throw nyrula to equip it for the jump and movement increase (and because it rules), into speed potion, into murder. Also, if you don't like needing to be at half health for Grit, just keep it on your bar and swap helmets when you get below 50%, it's a trade of an action for a bonus which is what Monks prefer anyway.

You can dual wield and still do unarmed. It doesn't make sense, but it works. So I keep nyrula in main and Phalar in off. Though when you throw, nyrula moves to the offhand. Though that's a great idea to cast scream then switch... Huh. Wait... if you go shield on offhand... Phalar Scream, then start fight, then throw Nyrula, and it equips and replaced Phalar. That's a really great start to keep the buff

I love your videos but when I go on to your actual channel there's no playlist or shorts or specific video areas of all this great three. Yeah if I'm on my computer I can type it in but there's no search bar next to the words about like there is on my PC as opposed to my phone and when I use the search bar on the top it comes up with something different. So if you could add a separate playlist or channel or video section for Boulder's gate 3 that would be great please. I would be greatly appreciated of it if you can make a category for that so I can just simply tap that and look for what I want. Maybe make one for builds or suggestions for builds cuz when I'm on my phone I can't find it unless I have that specific video and look at one at a time. Let's say you bump your Wisdom up to 22 (17 starting, 2 from ability improvement, 1 from Ethel's hair and 2 from mirror of loss). That's a +6 wisdom modifier. This affects not only your AC but also your overall damage. Your base Dexterity will be 16, but you can wear the Graceful Cloth which you can buy from Esther for an additional +2 Dexterity. That's a +4 modifier. That alone puts your AC up to 20, plus an additional point to your Dexterity saving throw. 21 with the ring of protection and yet another point to saving throws. If you really want to keep that symbiotic entity, I recommend not getting those 3 levels into thief and instead getting the Helmet of Grit, because that bonus action is all you get out of it and it costs you 3 levels while you lose the massive damage increase from ki resonation. Not worth it, in my opinion. You haven't lived the open palm monk life until you've watched a pack of mobs explode from ki resonation: blast. Which only costs a ki point. Not an action or bonus action. People are seriously underestimating just how good the bonuses are that open palm monks get at level 9. So assuming 2 druid levels, you're left with 1 more level to spend, which can be spent however you want it. A few recommendations: get monk to 10 for even more movement, great old one warlock for fear on crit and hex, or my personal favourite, knowledge domain cleric for expertise in 2 more skills, as well as some very potent spells you don't get from Druid, like Command and Sanctuary. Keep in mind that you are already essentially killing anything in one turn with this build, so more utility becomes more important than even more damage.

yeah but this way you miss out on second Flurry of Blows in a round. that essentially cuts your damage in half

@@Kek393 That's why you take the helmet of grit. Doesn't matter if you're at half health when you're that hard to hit or when everything dies in one turn anyway. That way you get the choice to use ki resonate: punch/blast or flurry of blows. Whichever the situation calls for. Blast hits everything in a decent range for 3d6 force damage for every enemy you hit with punch. So say you use haste, wholeness and 2 bonus points for 5 total attacks, that's a 15d6 chain explosion hitting everyone in range. Actually, double that with extra attack. Say you go the 1 warlock route and use hex on the boss, that hex stacks with symbiotic entity and deals yet more necrotic damage on every consecutive blast. What I'm saying is, just from those modifiers, every enemy you hit takes 3d6 force + 1d6 necrotic damage, while the hexed target takes another 1d6 necrotic. Now if you manage to group up 10 enemies and you hit them all with ki resonation: punch, all of that damage gets multiplied by 10. Or basically, you get to deal up 30d6 force + 10d6 necrotic in an area blast, plus another up to 10d6 from whatever you hexed. And blast only costs a ki point, so you can use it after you've spent your actions and bonus actions. No non-boss enemy survives that. The build in the video is very good with single target damage. My suggestion can do single target as well as true AoE damage. And it doesn't matter how many enemies surround you. Just stack them up, then blow them up. And for a single, high health enemy, you still get to use 10 flurries of blows at the same potency as this build.

@@DefectivePieceofChalk ok but you still miss out on half of your damage from a second flurry of blows consistently. Command at max level ain't doing shit and Monk has never been about AoE stuff. Monk is a single target melee lockdown character. Hex gives you a fucking 1d6 damage, at max level you can wipe your ass with that. Your build just does nothing to justify the loss of nova damage this build provides.

With the same set why not try 5 warlocks 7 monk With the benefits of extra attacks provided with pact and weapon coating + hex Hasted You could start engagement with wholeness souls into hex, that left you with 3 weapon attack and 2 flurry Sparkle hands buff let you trigger hex again as long its not 5 staks multiple +elixir of colosus You will deal your weapon damage +1d10 worm poison + 2x hex damage Flurry damage per one hit 1d6 +1d4(elixir of colsus) + 1 lightning charge +2x hex And this is GWM viable with versatile weapon making serious damage if monster/person is holded

What is the world shocking event is just Luffy mid-diffing Kizaru? It’s clear that the Marines/WG don’t consider Luffy as big of a threat as the original 4 Yonko, and I think there’s a possibility that Egghead will serve as the event that proves once’s and for all to the entire world that Luffy is at that level.

Watching the gameplay loop, and at one point your murder train ends because of a critical miss on a 95% hit chance. Halfling lucky ability would have negated that crit miss, 95% of the time. Just saying. ;-)

I don't see fly on Druid level 2, it's like level 5. Did you go farther with parasite powers which gives fly?

Yeah I was testing the build and realized there is no flying. No clue where he got it from, with 2 druid you don't get it I think? I guess you are right, it's the Extra Tadpole power maybe.

@@vorayne Yeah man, I have a video on how to do Fancy Footwork on Tact (Gortash without activatting traps), you just fly down middle and kill him. Fly is so OP. Almost cheating to have it on all 4.

Other people have mentioned the Fly bonus action from the parasites, and it is true you can get it that way, but it should be noted that specific version of fly has like buttefly wings for the icon. I theorize you might get it from Ascending Astarion but I cant confirm since i already had the other version of fly.

So what I do at merchants is I clear out my highest CHA character and put all of my wares into their inventory, then I waddle my way over to a merchant. I donate them all of my on hand gold, and this does two things, it almost maxes their attitude (for best price) and it gives them enough gold to buy my garbage. With the high CHA and positive attitude I just bought I can always walk out with every item I wanted from them plus more gold than what I started with most of the time. I started doing this in my second playthrough after I stumbled onto this and I've never needed for gold or good items.

Stop making monk builds with shields it's the most cringe thing I've ever seen in this game. Even using armor is kinda cringe too but I can at least make that one slide.

Maybe the patched it, but as of 9/8/23 wielding a shield removes the WIS bonus to AC.

Shield will count as armor so you won't get unarmored bonuses if you choose to go that way
