I tried. I really REALLY tried. I tried to play BG3, and I tried to enjoy all of it. But while I enjoyed the graphics, the music, and the dialogue, the combat system was extremally frustrating. Especially when the enemies would just run away/teleport and you'd have to use movement just to get close to them again. It drove me nuts, so I stopped playing.

I was in the same boat as you. But I simply took the time to understand D&D mechanics and then I just steamrolled through every fight.

I mean, you gotta flex your creative muscle. You can't just button mash your way through the game. Use some strategy. Get the drop on your enemies. Sneak up on them. Throw grease bottles so they slip and fall and cant run. Freeze some water. Cast hold person. Use ranged weapons. Use some spells. You can approach combat any way you like. Its dnd the game. If you dont like baldurs gate, I'd advise agaisnt playing dnd.
