There is a circlet you can buy from a trader at the mushroom village in the underdark that gives you +3 health per lightning charge... also a necklace that give an extra bolt to your magic missile. Those 3 pieces have nice synergy.

For the amulet, I went for the elemental augmentation found in the creche. I now add my charisma modifier twice on my cantrips. With my multiplayer party, I casually dealth a twinned firebolt that dealth 41+35 damages. It's absolutely insane and would recommend anyone to take that over the arcane missile one, which is more for wizards, sorc being more attuned with elemental damages.

Good video but getting Haste over Hold Person is better in my opinion. Twin cast haste on yourself and your best melee dps and now you have two super dps characters. You can double cast without having to spend sorcery points on quicken spell every turn or even just cast three times a turn, go nuts. Haste is super strong.

This is extremely good and +20 points right out the gate for being a guide that straight up tells you True Strike is awful, way too many that offer it up as an option. It's never a good option. One thing I will say is that White Dragon Ancestry is another good option, not only do you not have to worry about stacking your resistances by taking tiefling and a fire resist dragon, but you get Armor of Agathys from it, which is a great defensive spell usually only Warlocks get. There's also plenty of ice spells in the game to take advantage of the damage boost, with probably the best eventually being Cone of Cold which can do MASSIVE amounts of damage even without the ancestry.

If you use Storm Sorcerer, remember to focus purely on Call Lighting, Thunder ray, Shatter, Chromatic Orb Thunder, etc..... You will make extra damage with those. Also remember to give some one a create water level 1 spell.

​@@spellandshieldit's pretty good imo since it has twin cast and multiclass with tempest cleric you can max damage your lightning and thunder spells and if the enemies are wet you get double damage going from a 30 dmg call lightning to 60 dmg for example. Plus twin casting haste is really good. And you can dip 1 level into wizard to learn other spells if you want.

Another way I did is to start 2 levels with Warlock. The eldritch blast cantrip + hex is more than enough to blast through early acts and you dont need to use sorc level 1 or 2 offensive spells anymore.

at level 5 you can pick fireball and replace a rank 1 spell for haste so you will have access to two level 3 spells instead of just 1.

I like to make Drow sorcerers. Using 2 hand crossbows make them actually useful even without spell slots so you don't have to rest too much. Superior dark visin is really great too, an you can avoid the silly looks going bald, blue and full hellraiser looks

@@57precision Frankly thiefling isn't top anything by now, maybe people just like the looks and lore, dunno. If you want to min max, usually the best race for melee is half orc and for other is either wood elf or half wood elf (depending on with proficiencies your class will benefit more). Gith are also utra good, but I'd rank them just a bit lowed due to not having dark vision.

Theres a circulate from the Hobgoblin scholar. Also located in the underdark, same camp you buy the necklace with the magic missiles. It gives you temp health whenever you gain lightening charges. It pairs nicely with the Spellsparker staff.

Honestly for racial bonuses its a toss up between half elf (shield prof, extra cantrip, dark vision, no sleep, charmed resistance) or duergar (superior dark vision, enlarge for str checks, free 'per battle' until long rest invisibility) if you're going draconic sorc you get the resistance for free at 6. Dont complete volos quest yet, you can pickpocket him without repercussion for gold, sm healing pots, supply, thieves tools, and a smattering of scrolls. If he cathes you he will just run away for a minute and come back. Hire a hireling and keep reapeccing it to reset volo inventory (plus pickpicket withers as there is nothing that happens when caught to get your gold back) Early level staff just go to reacue the counselor and you get that sparking staff. When you damage with a spell you get lightning charges with deal an additional 1 damage, when 5 charges are gathered hot your target with an aoe for 1d8 lightning damage... pretty much every cast of magic missle

Watch out of you do that too much Volo will turn against you and the entire camp will attack your team. Just fake buy some item to check is relation stat with you. If it’s too low just give him some stuff. It happens to me in honor mode and I almost lost the game in my camp.

Storm sorcery is severely overlooked. Being able to fly without being hit by reactions or opportunity attacks is very useful. Add on to the fact that you can fly after every spell cast as a bonus action and you will have major utility from that feature alone! (Think of all the places you couldnt reach because you didnt have a damn fly spell early game). It can also be used in combat to reach places your enemies cant, which when paired with the "distant spells" feature basically makes your sorc a damn watch tower of doom. Level 5 or 6 gives you a spell that you can repeatedly case without using a spell slot!!!

I don’t know anything about D&D or BG3 so my first playthrough was going to be all experimental and just for fun. I made a Dragonborn gold fire sorcerer high half elf, with charlatan background because it sounded dope. I’ve never once lost a dice roll on persuasion or sleight of hand. I’ve had such a blast just ripping “IGNIS!” everywhere lol I’m still in act 1 but I haven’t once felt underleveled or anything. It’s balanced so far and I know sorcerer just gets better with time and levels. I put Karlach and Lae’zel out front and me and Shadowheart in the back for the all girl team and it’s just been so much fun! I was really intimidated at first but once I went into my first playthrough with the idea of it just being fun and experimental, instead of min/max and finding every little thing, I’ve enjoyed it so much.

"Sleep Falls off Tremendously" Sleeping enemies are auto Crit when Hit, and if you have a Rogue in your party they hit really hard with their sneak attack crit. Sleep only needs a HP pool to hit and weakened Enemies fall in that threshold, so Sleep becomes amazing at helping to finish off tougher enemies by hitting them hard, Sleeping them then having Asterian go up and finish them off without using another Spell Slot.

To maximize EXP on the ship, grab all 4 bombs as you head into the boss room, 1 right before the restore/save point and 3 in the main room. After picking them all up, stack them near the commander and mind flayer. If you set it to easy difficulty, you will not need the tanks for the commander/mind flayer but if you want to kill the imp guards that fly in around round 8~9 then save the tanks for them. (Make sure to add the spell "Command" to Shadowheart's prepared spells, then use "Drop" to make the commander drop his sword early. Give to La'zel and make quick work of the bosses) I usually have my main character and La'zel stack next to the bombs to draw the guards in. Once the imps HP is around 35 or less, shoot the tanks with fire bolt. Usually about 4-5 rounds left depending on how many misses I get. Loot on the guards is usually 700 gold total plus some green arrows and/or potions depending on drops. Happy Hunting!

Playing sorcerer here on tactician and came across your video. Best guide I have seen so far, with in-depth info and not just trying to farm views. Very eye-opening too. I wish I had chosen sleep earlier. I underestimated it due to my bias towards higher levels (I spent too long in other D&D games being at level 10+). I know you didn’t mention this spell but I have been using cloud of daggers, and it has been pretty effective to me in specific battles when I can funnel enemies towards a certain path. (Level 4 here still.) I guess I also possibly missed my chance at making the deal with the old lady for the charisma bonus 😢

@@TheJedi25 It’s funny you ask now, cause I just finished the game a week ago - on tactician too. (I had no idea I took me 3 months to finish it, I guess that’s adult life lol) Sorcerer is actually pretty good. Having a character focused on charisma really helps with conversations. Metamagic is really powerful - imagine casting haste on two targets at once, or casting two fireballs in a single round. You have to choose your spells more carefully than a wizard, but it matters little because at the end of the day you will be using the same spells most of the time, and you can always use scrolls directly too. You can have a very solid DC with the draconic sorcerer too, and with items that give you AC when you don’t wear armor, and items that give you dexterity bonus, your character can be quite tanky too. Also counterspell is vital. I can’t imagine myself without it, with all those enemies casting crazy level 6 spells at the end of the game. At the end of the day, not a lot of secrets to build a pure draconian sorcerer. Get as much charisma as possible, decide whether you need dexterity based on gear, make sure you choose twinned and quickened spell among your metamagic choices, that counterspell, magic missile, haste and fireball are part of your set of spells, and honestly you are good to go for the most part. There are also some crazy builds out there for storm sorcerer, but I’m not as knowledgeable on those. And wild magic sorcerer, that I know absolutely nothing about.

True Strike has exactly one, very specific and niche, use that I have been able to figure out. If you are a rogue, cant get advantage, can't threaten a target, and are dual-wielding, you could cast it and get your sneak attack with off-hand

I have been wondering about what you think of starting as a Half Wood Elf instead of Tiefling when it comes to min-maxing? The only perk you would miss out on would be the Mage Hand start which indeed is "handy" but can be replaced by other party members or eventually through items(?), and the fire resistance which is nice early, is a wasted perk since you would get the fire resistance anyway at level 6 from the Dragon Ancestry perk. Half Wood Elf gives you the same dark vision (12m) but also adds more movement (1,5m) (which tbh isn't alot to make a difference, but useful with dash in early levels), fey ancestry which makes you immune to sleep and also gives you Civil Milita which gives you the opportunity to wield shields in early game to increase your armor rating. Any thoughts about this?

Melf's first staff gives +1 in spell attack rolls and +1 to the DC to resist your spells. This with twinned hold person or fireball is garanteed destruction at level 4

One thing that I feel u missed. Stat wise ur spot on, but at level 3 take a wizard dip. With an int of 8 u can only set up one spell, but if u get the Ogre Lump's crown, it buffs ur int to 17 and u can prepare 4 spells. This will make u a level 2 sorc and a level 1 wizzie, but ur a level 3 caster! So being a wizzie, u can scribe level 2 spells and ur sorc can cast them. So u get all the wizzie spells for jus a single dip in wizard. Only down side, feats are class based so u only get 2 feats (level 5 and 9) instead of 3 (level 4,8 and 12). But the wizard dip is very powerful for the feat loss. Also the number of spells ur able to cast are caster level based so no loss there (at level 3 u can still cast 2 level 2 spells).
