It's truly quite excellent, neat character shifts as moments change and just this heightened level of chaotic evil that has a little more below the surface. Disappointing that so many I chat with just kill poor Minthara. She's quite fun.

You should hear her as Ship-Mistress Solken in "Angels of Death" She stole the scenes. While some of the Astartes Space Marines came off whinny, she was strong and focused; never arrogant nor egotistic. Literally a good Captain that didn't want her crew and herself to die.

Minthara is definitely my favourite companion. She always makes me laugh. I keep trying to drag her back into Act 1 with me, but the game is having none of it.

I knew I wasn't imagining how different she sounds from when you first meet her to her romance and to her being free! Got to say, especially when you meet her first in Moonrise, the pain in her voice communicates how much she's been hurt then. Minthara would not say it - but the voice acting is superb and carries it perfectly. Thank you for giving us Minthara!

Is probably actually my favourite companion She is such an outcast, so extremely brutal and cold, warm hearted, intelligent and philosophical, all at the same time while still maing sense. Meeting her was a bit like meeting someone from an alien race. Slighlty similar to La'zael, but she was so much of a zealot, while Minthara had a philosophical undertone for all her evil. Her total care for Karlach, the complete opposite to Minthara, is awesome. The one character that really makes you think. Questions the party, as Emma said in the beginning of the interview.

There certainly is a fascinating dynamic behind Minthara, cold but calculated with purpose. Most ignore the character due to the setup near the start of the game, but the experience is certainly is more unique when you have her on the team.

I'm so glad Larian put out Patch 5, so now she's recruitable for people unwilling to raid the grove. She's a fantastic character who's an hilarious asset to the party, and especially shines in Act III. You want her in your party in the city. Emma did an amazing job with her. I think it's the best performance in the game, & that's saying something.

She was recruitable for people unwilling to raid the grove before but i know what you mean. She's probably my favorite melee character with the smite attacks, and the paladin heals are very helpful.

@@zackfair6791Well the upside is that you get a steamy romance scene with Minthara if you do massacre the grove and can recruit her in act 2. You do end up losing 2 even 3 companions for doing it. Karlach and Wryll will leave immediately, and Gale can leave if you fail a persuasion roll. The devs after seeing the Sheepthara trick. Decided to put a much easier way to do it. Which is by goading her into a confrontation by stealing or assaulting another entity in front of her. Putting her in a temporary hostile state. Then using non-lethal melee attacks on her to knock her out temporarily. For the trick to work you have to then kill the other 2 leaders without long resting. It's also safest to deal with her before the other 2. I attacked the floating eye when its patrol loop went in front of her. One it calls in backup if you don't and it's the easiest thing to attack without accidentally hitting her. I think she goes full hostile if you directly attack her to instigate the fight. But once you kill the other 2 report back to Halsin then Zevlor and then have the party at camp when you long rest the quest finishes with her alive. Cause the script now checks for two states on her which is that she is dead or knocked out. Then she appears in Act 2 or should. Some people have had her not show up without them understanding why. But before to recruit her without exploits was to ignore the conflict between the goblins and druid grove. But this really kind of harms you because it causes the deaths of important characters for companion quest, and you miss out on a good chunk of xp for leveling up.

Great interview - Minthara is my favourite character, recruited her both ways (good and evil) a number of times. The performance is absolutely magnificent. The line that absolutely breaks me every time is when you rescue her from the tower she says "I thought no one would come for me" - harrowing, that a woman who is so powerful is telling you that she is so alone and that no one cares for her. Emma's delivery of that line is just stunning, her use of breath and touch of vocal fry is just world class mastery of voice control.

Minthara is my favorite in the game. She may be hard to gain trust, but once she trusts your character, her loyalty is indomitable. Even when the entire city turns against you, and the majority of companions doubt, she and Gale are with you, to the end and beyond.

I got into DnD through the War of the Spider Queen series and so I always play Drow when given the chance, which caused me to side with Minthara on my first playthrough. Absolutely loved what Larian did with her and highly recommend going back and recruiting her in a playthrough if you haven't yet. And don't forget to visit Dribbles the clown, make a nice date out of it.

Nice that Larian put in a way to recruit Minthara even if you don't side with her in act 1. Involves knocking her out but by goading her into a fight by assaulting a character not her directly or entity in front of her or stealing. I attacked the floating eye when its patrol went in front of her. Temporary hostile characters when they are knocked out will go into a temporary state for that if you use non-lethal melee attacks. A feature on a toggle in the passives section. But once she is knocked out you have to kill the other 2 leaders without using a long rest. Character knocked out temporary will awaken if you do that. You don't want her to do that until after the quest to kill the goblin leaders is finished so the best place to long rest is after the party at the camp. Then she should appear where she does in Act 2 as if you sided with her.

Same as any interview really, you pitch it and then they agree or not, and you go from there to schedule it. There are many steps, but it's not overly complex honestly.

I wish they'd made integrating Minthara more of a priority. Even with Patch 5 it's hard to be "good" and recruit her. They should get back in the recording studio and have Withers offer to bring her back to join the party when good players inevitably kill her for the first time. That'd catch new player attention.
