@@onecolorist Skip Sorcerer and take 2 level of Wizard and take Evocation. Personaly I think that would add more value to the build verses 1 level of Sorcerer.

if you do the one level sorc dip, wouldnt you do it as your first character level for proficiency in constitution saving throws?

Better build yet would be 7 LVLS Tempest Cleric 3 LVLS Storm Sorcery 2 LVLS Evocation wizard. With quicken and hasten meta magic you destroy everything. I'm working shadowheart up this way.

Nice vid. I'm curious as to why you've put so many points into Dex, with the medium armour you are only getting +2 to AC, so DEX 14 would seem optimal, freeing up more points for other things. Is it just for initiative?

Thanks! Yes exactly. I just like the high Initiative for a build like this, because if we go first we can basically always set up the whole battlefield before the fight even "starts". But you are right, you can of course distribute points somewhere else if you want - It's not essential.

Wouldnt Glyph of Warding also be a good option? You can set it to deal lightning damage, and it deals more damage in a wider area than a use of Call Lightning. Could be better for your one (or two) use(s) of Destructive Wrath.

The armor isn't fantastic, and since Tempest domain gives you heavy armor proficiency, you could take a 10 Dex with heavy armor and use the points somewhere else. This would prevent you from being sniped by archers.

I was thinking bump strength so you cant jump to get close or bonk people. Nuruna spear in act 3 seems like it would be amazing for a storm build. Yeah your initiative sucks but you can use the dex gloves or take alert.

If u create a new character, using Blue Dragonborn, is excellent.. it can make u resistant to Lightning (before u get that lightning immunity ring), and you get lightning breath and ur lightning Dmg is increased.. Elemental Affinity: Lightning is a great feat also.. Tip: throwing a bottle of water at ur own feet, when you are surrounded by enemies.. can make it electrified and when they hit u.. with Jolty Vest.. they will fly back..lol 😂 Throwing a bottle of water is a Bonus Action, so you can throw a bottle of water at ur own feet . Get lightning charges, then still have an action to hit someone or cast a spell .

@@kalzhaethe only way I can think of is having an offhand weapon/other secondary "attack" to break the bottle after dropping on the floor, rather than throwing

why not take sorc to level 3 atleast to get quick cast, then you can pop water and your damage spells in first turn

Looks cool by why not use heavy armor and take alert to bump tern order? Then you could bump strength for jump which is helpful to get around and also in combat to get close to enemies? Or bump up constitution to max for extra hp and saving throws? Also how do you not electrocute your party members? Unless you make them all ranged attackers it seems like you have to fight everyone by yourself

Can you really use the Sorcerer cantrips effectively though, when you have Charisma dumped?

Honestly for the cantrips you are best of using things like mage hand, minor illusion etc.. I like to take shocking grasp cause it fits the theme of the build (but you are right). But one of the main reasons i like take 1 level there is the fly bonus action for repositioning - and the rest (cantrips/spells) is just a nice option to have. Maybe i should have explained my thoughts better haha

my only recommendation is to go 10 Cleric / 2 sorcerer so you can get the meta-magics. you will loose the level 6 spell slot but for this build that's not a big loss for how much Sorcery Points and Meta-magics get you.

This build is exactly what I was looking for! One question though: What about your own party members? Don't they also get shocked when standing in the the rain/water? Would you have to make sure to give them resistance to lightning?

The main thing will be positioning. But it works quite well since you can make your setup in relation to the environment. And from the playstyle you can just have your party members controlling the area outside the wet surface, because not all of them will be inside - and even if, just thunderwave them back out. But of course, it only works if not every last bit is under water haha. But i think you just have to try it out, because it also depends on your companion builds.

Looks cool to solo fight but… how do you deal with team play while zapping the S out of your team mates ?

Honestly it just depends on the location and situation. But most of the time it works just fine if you have the cleric centered and your teammates outside - you can either do ranged attacks or fight the ones not entering the surface/getting shocked and fall back outside. Or if they all come to close, just thunderwave them back outside and you can fight them again with your melee chatacters. It's not the safest/teamplay friendliest build, but it can work.

I found this build too late :( I picked the trident instead of the staff as a reward and opened the chest so I couldn’t buy the armor from the bandits :( any advice?
