@@steelwind2334 Not really. With Abjuration tank, the game figures out how much damage the AoA will deal, so they will attack other party members over you. With this build, that's not the case. Hence, you are a true tank, wit the enemies targeting you instead of your companions.

@@RealDragox Ever thought maybe its because youve got EIGHT runs with ONLY 1100 hours so far without trying to actually explore the map? Many people take up to 300 hours on act one alone before they actually finally discovered everything and colored the entire map.

@@cocoa156 What TF do you mean by "8 runs in 'only' 1100 hours?! You know that's on average 120 hours per playthrough! And there are not that many players who spend 300 hours just in Act1. Those people just keep reseting and starting over. 1st Playthrough took me 125 hours to finish Act1 and still managed to miss content. I found new stuff in my 8th run. Some stuff are locked directly behind choices and how you got there in first place. You cannot find everything even in multiple runs. My first playthrough was almost 350 hours long, 2nd being over 250 hours... that's mostly because of constant reloading and unoptimized gear. My 3rd, 1st successful Honour Mode, was almost 200 hours long, due to min-maxing shit and exploring for even more specific gear. And obviously more you replay the game, faster each playthrough tends to be, even when exploring everything. Also nice way to assume something without any basis or knowing how I play the game. Yes, I do explore entire walkable area of the map in every Playthrough in every Act. At the end of each playthrough there is no blacked out area, that is walkable to. Even, if you explore every fucking micrometer of the map, you will very likely missed things/secrets, especially when nothing about them is very obvious. Few Areas (like Act3 Cave in pre-City Docks & Act1's Kua-Toa Cave) are so well hidden, they don't even show on a map! Their entrances are so well hidden, you need to literally go over with cursor to just see them after being highlighted and even then, it doesn't always work. Not even ALT key doesn't work. Ofcourse I still missed a lot of secret items, that I know exist, just because they are 'locked' behind doing Illegal 'red' action and me playing mostly Good Guy Tav, I rarely lockpick/enter Chests/Rooms highlighted in 'red'.

No ring of regeneration? I guess its not a bad idea to dial back the health for some dps. Just knowing that you could get a garunteed 4hp every turn is wild from the ring. If you keep the flail and have the regen ring, thats at least 10hp per turn.

Ahhh Lineage II, good times. Always liked games that have unusual builds. I remember making an Orc Destroyer that used +16 bow, kept my health low for the extra damage, had alt account that had blade dancer for crit buff and i killed a lot of gankers/pk'ers outside towns. They never expected to get one shot from my bow :D Also discovered good way to farm exp for alt accounts. We made Orc monks with a friend and both used polearms to hit multiple enemies, then we just pulled all the mobs from a dungeon and killed them in one huge pile.

I think your barbarian tank is good and can beat the game on honour mode, but the best tank is: 1. Light cleric6/bard6: 40 ac, -50% dmg taken for whole party, can share damage taken from teammates, heals, reaction to disadvantage enemies if they crit you, summons, spirit guardians for aoe damage... 2. Entire party with warlock2 with devils sight so enemies cant use any ranged abilities on you and melee abilities have disadvantage. (when inside darkness spell) 3. Abjuration wizard with upcasted armor of agathys can run around and let most of the monsters kill themselves. Mostly a solo build though as the monsters can ignore you. 4. This build, maybe.

My cleric , that was tanking on ze camp during honour mode , had 189 hp , minsc had 169 hp , with half dmg from electricity , ansur was able to kill the cleric and leave minsc with 10 hp with the legendary action😂 ( it's a cheesy tactic but hey first time honour mode ) sape happened with raphael , he was able to actualy downed minsc , so probabily raphael can del the most dmg in one turn

Gonna be honest in me and my brothers honour mode run, ansur wrecked and almost did a TPK, meanwhile raphael was beaten up real fast. We went for summons, ended up the game with 30+ zombies at end lol. (i was a spore druid, kept popping long rest potions and carried around rats to make overall as many zombies as possible lol, my brother just asked "What are those 40 rats for??? can't you just drop it? No... you will see!) lmao.

@@thebuffman5597 Also, in case you want to know how to very easily deal with both Ansur and Raphael, the combo of Globe of invoulnerabillity + Markoheshkir + spellcrux amulet completely breaks them both. Raphael's minions will at least try to use the globe and will require knockback potential to deal with, but Ansur will just sit there and do nothing as he's taken apart.

Another idea is to wear heavy armor (with proficiency), which will disable some of your rage benefits, but you still get the resistances from bear. Then you also Heavy Armor Master to reduce all incoming damage by 3. With the Admantine Splint Armor, which reduces all damage by two by itself, any damage instance needs to be at least 11 to even have the chance to scratch you (or 13, with Helldusk). Also, with your version, you don't get much from Fighter, to be honest, other than maybe the three maneuvers. So you could, instead, put those levels towards Rogue -> Thief, so that you can dash each turn with a bonus action, refreshing your stallion temp hp each turn, while still having the Bonespike Boots. Thief also has the benfit of you going to rage and still have a bonus action for the first turn.

I usually build a war cleric/ thief in a 8/4 config. I usually use one asi for wisdom (20 stat total with hags hair) , druid initiate for extra cantrips (thorn whip and shillelagh), and pole arm master. Here is the thing, you are basically going to be able to attack 4 times in a single turn with bonus action warpriest attack, bonus action polearm master attack, and a main action attack and then spiritual weapon. You use just regular quaterstaffs for the first two acts, then in act 3 you use dancing breeze which then enables sneak attacks from rogue levels. Then in act 3 you swap out magic initiate for great weapon master and just wear dex gloves. Its a simple build thats effective and doesn't require classing into several different classes to achieve a single meme thing. Solo viable too!

You only get 3 Warpriest charges per long rest so thats 3 bonus actions whereas an action surge regens on short rest (So 3) but gives you an extra action which effectively gives you 2 attacks if you have the Extra attack skill. Thief gives you access to 2 bonus actions but you listed 3; warpriest, polearm and spiritual weapon. So I'm guessing you use warpriest 3 times then use polearm bonus action until you can long rest? Issue with that is your only dealing 1d4 damage and while the Dancing Breeze special attack is AWESOME, you would probably see more damage output if you pick the Dual Wielder feat instead of Pole arm then use the finesse weapon Phalar Aluve for bonus damage and can offhand attack with a rapier for example. Pole arm master is a feat that you ideally want to combine with the Sentinel feat which is a very scary combo :)

@@jakeparkinson8929 5 warpriest charges is still less then 6 action surge attacks but obviously you can use all warpriest charges in 1 combat so they are better for those who prefer long rests over short rests :) Great weapon Master bonus action only procs with kills or crits. This isnt a crit build and the bonus action only works if you have some remaining and are able to move to another target. So of your 4 potential bonus actions you can only use 2. Basically I'm assuming you use Cloud giant for 27str so attacking with Dancing Breeze 1d10+2+8 plus either another with warpriest or 1d4+8 via polearm master for a total of 20-40 damage before adding any other modifiers like sneak atk or gear. Whereas the Duel wield combo I listed with Phalar Aluve is 1d8+1+8+1d4 with any other 1 handed weapon from daggers to rapiers with special effects too for example we'll just use the easy to get Charge-bound warhammer which is 1d8+1+8+1d6+(1d4 from phalar again) for an average of 23-48 not only that but the Phalar Aluve 1d4 gets applied to any other additional attacks like Spiritual weapon or allied attacks. We could also use other legendary weapons like Duellist's Prerogative or Nyrulna for even more damage or special attacks. Or for clerics we could use the Harper Sacredstriker quarterstaff to have access to a tier 6 Spiritual Weapon which your cleric cant cast at level 8 for even more damage from that potential bonus action source :)

as a tank, dealing damage is secondary. in other games, just enough to keep agro. unfortunately that doesn't workmin bg3. that said, some ideas: adamantine heavy armor and shield, it adds reeeling to enemies and preve ts crits. usually that's the biggest danger. You can add the amulet that gets you back up (forgot the name, around the creshe area shop). alao you can choose halforc, who gets back up. also creshe area, the special mace, which heals you. currently using something like this on a storm cleric, who keeps adding reverberation and reeling. its lots of fun.

I feel like 4 levels in rogue would actually make a tankier build? You can go Thief allowing you to bonus action dash for temp health which is better then the fighter Second Wind, you can reckless attack for advantage on your offhand finesse weapon for sneak attack which would slowly add up more damage then action surge attacks. If your gonna wear the Bonespike Helmet then you definitely dont need to go fighter battlemaster as the helmet gives you unlimited uses of the Manoeuvre. Yes you get less health as a Rogue but since its only 4 levels your only losing about 4hp but gain the easiest temp health regen in the game :)

My favourite way of building a bear barbarian is with the skin burster halberd from the creche in act 1. Hit stuff, get damage reduction stacks, hit stuff, get more stacks, repeat. Oh whats that? Your special ability just hit me for a 50 damage? Yeah sorry buster, i only take 17 damage.

I was wondering if you tried Theif Rogue with this build, 4 Levels of thief Rouge you get two bonus action and cunning action dash. I tested this and The cunning action dash does work w/Aspect of the Beast: Stalion. You can essentially gain 16 Temp hp every round you lose Temp HP.

The best tank in this game is a fighter with 30+ AC and acloak from act 3 that gives enemies disadvantage on attacks against you. And this build should be played solo with a buffer at camp for that lvl 1 spell that gives 2 extra AC.

Ring of regen would get more heals but he's so tanky already, he instead opted for the caustic ring and glow ring for more damage. Helm of Balduran is medium armor which will cancel out the Barbarians Unarmoured Defence sadly reducing your AC. The Amulet of Health will give you more health and an extra AC for Barbarians but it means you risk losing potential health regen every turn as Periapt of Wound Closure amulet gives max health regen. If you really wanted more health regen you can use the Illithid power Perilous Stakes or simply go Rogue instead of fighter so you can bonus action dash every turn giving yourself 16 temp health plus you use can reckless attack to proc sneak attack damage with finesse weapons :)

The hard part is yeah the amulet will put you over 200 health easy but maybe having the helm with the ring can offset that and obviously yeah you'd have to pick a class that can just wear heavy armor for more ac, but I swear to go there are infinite ways to enjoy the game and I can't tell you how many times I restart now just coming up with new crazy builds, this game will definitely last a while even without dlc XD

Looks like a super fun build. My only question is why you didn't start with fighter to get the two weapon fighting early as well as the proficiencies. Would that make a difference?

We don't beed two weapons early, and its better to get barbarian benefits earlier to get powerspikes from level 3 + feat at level 4 and so on

two weapon fighting is not dual wielder, it doesn't allow you to dual wield non-light weapons

Really cool build I thought about something similar after my first play through when I found the flail from the knolls and Khagas dropped necklace but sad to report healing from a weapon attack will not proc the bonus 1d6 poison damage. This was very sad as in act two one of the thormms (the doctor one) has a cape and ring that would have synergy with the set up

Dual wielding doesn't work that way. The extra bonus action attack can't be with your shattered flail. Take tough instead it is a way better one (+2 hp per level, so twice the gold dwarf bonus)

I love how this works just as well as in dnd, but generally speaking, everyone in the party should have very high AC, not because they should be “tanks”, but simply because having low AC means you are the party’s weak point. Unless you have a good reason to get hit (like armor of agathys) then it’s a good idea to get high AC, regardless of class and party role.

Gnols is strong, try to be at least level 4, and always convince Flind to be on your side, then run away for a turn, so she is engaged and not you :)

Yeah, but you need to look for groups, if enemies spread its same heal, but without resistance to everything (ofc you can warding bond on tiger and he will be op, but this one is self sufficient)
