Baldur's Gate 3 - The Bloodflame Hunter (Bloodborne Inspired Build)

"Fear the Old Blood..."
With this build, I set out to make a Bloodborne inspired build for Dark Urge that focused on the bleeding status condition and fire attacks. But in the process of trying to make a Bloodborne Hunter, I accidentally ended up making a build that is actually it's own 3 stage boss battle!
You roleplay this build as a hunter who is slowly going mad from using the Old Blood, represented by Dark Urge cutscenes, the tadpole powers, and the Slayer transformation to complete the evolution from man to beast! Also I based this build primarily off of Lady Maria, but I mixed in some concepts from other bosses as well!

Soulsborne and Baldur's Gate 3 crossovers are golden and need to happen more often in both communities. I definitely plan on using this for a Redeemed Durge run. However, if you want to go full thematic and mirror the best ending of Bloodborne, you would use this build and become a Mind Flayer at the end of the story.

The main + prone combo definitely works. Tiger barb with radiating orb and reverb makes may boss fights trivial as most of the enemies spend the entire battle on the floor!

Yep, this is how I trivialized Cazador on Honor Mode. Wyll caused Reverb, Karlach removed Cazador's legs.

This might be. The COOLEST build you have ever done. THIS WAS AMAZING. I haven't beaten Bloodborne, because I am sadly not as good at the game as I'd like, but I LOVE the setting and aesthetic and the STORY is so good! Also I love those transforming weapons. They tickle something in my brain that just goes YAAAAAAS. Wish more games had those sorts of things XD

SPOILERS There's a permanent buff you can get in act 3 called Unstable Blood that makes the blood puddles that form when your character gets hit become flammable. If they get touched by fire, they become fire surfaces. It is obtained by giving Araj Oblodra a sample of your blood in both act 2 and act 3, she will give you a mysterious potion to drink which gives you the condition. Just one more way to punish your enemies for daring to make you bleed.

Instead of Amulet of Bahl because you already have multiple ways to proc bleed. I'd recommend using the Moon Drop Pendant which makes it so when you're 50% or below hit points you don't provoke opportunity attacks. Feel like it goes with the speedy duelist you were trying to go for

No. Prone and Mained targets cannot take any actions unless they have some ability that clears an effect.

The prone + maim thing. Yes, it works - if a maimed enemy is prone, they will just skip their turn. But maim and prone is usually a 1-turn effect, meaning they will get up as normal the following turn. I believe it is only 4e monk's water whip trip attack that doesn't have a turn timer on the prone effect, so if they get knocked prone by that, and are under an effect that cuts movement by more than half (something like plant growth or muddy+difficult terrain), then they will simply never get up. Edit: This build is f*ing sick btw. Helmet of Grit to basically get a free Rage when you go below half health is amazing. Then Slayer to top it all off *chef's kiss* (Secret 4th phase is insane)

Also if I remember correctly, once you have the amulet of health in act 3 you could drop your con then put on the amulet and your health will start around half health (may be able to heal a small amount to keep under half still) and then start with the extra bonus action and with a high enough ac, cloak of displacement and rage you should be pretty safe still

For the hat, if you really want it THAT bad, to the point you don't care about the effects of the hat, then the closest you are getting to it is Birthright.

Dude this makes me wish we got some Baldur’s Gate 3 or some of Larian’s games like Divinity Original Sin references in here for Elden Ring or some other Souls games man it be cool. Also I just saw your Dragonborn of Bahamut build sorta doing something different with my character being a bard and a Paladin I guess it works in a way as RP for Dragonborn of Bahamut (haven’t reached the point on multiclassing proper yet).

Surprised you didn't mention BOOOAL'S BLESSING condition you can get in Act 1. It makes it so all party members present, when blessed, have advantage on all attack rolls against a bleeding target. There is a method to get the buff without sacrificing a party member. Have to steal the knife from the Chief Kua-Toa.

If you decide on the 5 Barb / 7 Fighter option, I think it would be better to go 4 Barb / 8 Fighter, you get the extra Feat which if you want the extra movement that level 5 Barb gives you, you can grab the mobile feat to get that extra movement and more and if not you have other options like Savage Attack or Lucky or Alert etc.

Bloodborne is one of my favorite games and I literally bought a PS4 for it on the day of launch 😅. From what I remember, Lady Maria doesn't do bleed cause it's not a status in the game oddly enough. Especially with how many times you hear the word blood, strongly advise not doing a drinking game of it cause you'd die of alcohol poisoning just an hour into the game. At least I know for a fact Maria doesn't do anything besides physical and fire damage. She does have blood on her blades for phases 2 and 3, but they don't cause bleed at all. Still a fun build

My favorite Boss in DS3 was the Legion of the Abyss. It felt like a Bloodborne fight in Dark Souls 3 style of combat. I'm not sure which Elden Ring Boss was my favorite, almost done with the DLC. Just have 2 big bosses left. Beryl, the super dragon, and Final boss.

Are you able to do the Dame Aylin build? It is one of the more difficult builds, because a Cleradin needs both Charisma and Wisdom.

The bhaalist armor makes them not resistant to piercing damage when in the aura, so the bonespike gloves are unnecessary

Not true. The Bhaalist armour only makes enemies vulnerable to piercing damage if they are not already resistant or immune. Meaning that overcoming resistance can actually be quite important.

@HoboZone if you test it on a resistant enemy, it will make them not resistant. It won't them vulnerable but will make them take normal damage, and a similar thing goes for immune

@@MavMaestro Fair enough, that seems to be the case as of now. But since this isn't how the item is intended to function, it'll most likely get patched in September. So while the Bonespike Gloves aren't necessary for now, they mostly likely will be later. For now, just use the Helldusk Gloves.
