For the modded community, there is a modden weapon that would be perfect to this. It from the new "more longsword" mod. Specifically, the sword of the weave, an upgradeable sword that gives sorcerer's and wizards longsword proficiency as well as usung the spell caster modify as if it was strenght. Once you upgrade it to rare(+), it will allow you to make a weapon attack with a bonus action after using a spell.

I really liked this idea. It got me thinking about a different approach. Level 1 - 8 Storm Socerer Level 9 - 12 Assassin. Start with 16 Dex, 14 Con, 17 Cha. Pick up ASI: Dex x2 and Dual Wielder. Pad out Cha with bonuses from other sources. Main equipment will consist of gloves of battlemage's power, necklace of elemental augmentation, ring of elemental infusion, and ring of arcane synergy. You can also dual wield a staff and dagger. The approach to fights will be to cast water on the enemies and gain a surprise round. You then start off with shocking grasp and follow up with a dagger attack. When you use Shocking Grasp, you will gain extra lightning damage and arcane synergy. When you attack with your dagger, you will gain arcane acuity. Then in the next round, you can follow up with a CC spell which has been boosted by arcane acuity like hold person. Just a slightly different idea I had.

Your offhand dagger attacks would be much weaker without two weapon fighting.

@@HoboZone Yeah, that is a weakness unfortunately. You could use Gloves of the Balanced Hand and a Helmet of Arcane Acuity to gain the same effects. If you wanted to wear a different pair of gloves, going with the fighter 1 is better. You just sacrifice 1 ASI instead. I just liked the idea of a Durge starting off as his original sorcerer class and going into assassin at the very end so he could alternate between magic and dagger attacks.

Why not do two levels into tempest cleric instead of fighter? Isn't that more synergistic with storm sorcery?

I guess it's more on theme with the urge wanting to get a bit more personal with his kills. Being so close and spilling blood for bhaal. Plus you can always just look up any other storm sorcery build for something like this. This is more unique and tailored to the durge

Wouldnt it make sense to take the first level of rogue at lvl 3 to get more skill proficiency/expertise? is it simply a story-choice waiting to dip into rogue? SPOILER: also, I'm assuming evil Durge is gonna haggle with Auntie for that free stat increase. Would it make sense to drop an ASI for another feat that boosts dex or char by +1, like Resilient?

I think I'm going to modify this build on my next playthrough. I was mostly looking to round out my Darkest Darkness team with AOE damage. I'll probably go 6 sorcerer, 3 rouge, 1 fighter, and 2 warlock for that sweet, sweet devil's sight. I will be down a feat, but I think darkness will more than make up for it.

I like this! Advantage and autocrit on spell attacks feels great, i loved rogue/warlock before they patched sneak attack on eldritch blast. Keeping the rogue train going, I've been experimenting with a Minthara Assassin/Paladin build, potentially taking levels in Fighter for action surge and Ranger for Gloomstalker's extra first round attack. Making offhand attacks as well as many, Many regular attacks, smiting on all of them, and getting automatic crits sounds awesome, doesn't it? Some Levelling Suggestions: 3 Assassin/2 Paladin/5 Gloomstalker/2 Fighter 3 Assassin/5 Paladin/2 Fighter/2 any caster 3 Assassin/2 Paladin/5 Swords Bard/2 Fighter This build, to me, is all about managing spell slots and spell levels versus amount of attacks, figuring out which you want to prioritise for your huge burst round.

Hey Hobo, quick build request / question, I was wondering if you could make something like a desert warrior / desert bandit build. Idk if you already made one, but what I picture is either dual-wielding scimitars or one scimitar in hand and a shield in the other.

Go with a Four Elements Monk focusing on Wind attacks. Use Belm as your weapon with the Defensive Duelist feat. For armour, the Garb of the Land and Sky.

hey bro do you think a hex shadow monk would work ? monk (10) , warlock (2) as a dip would work ? it would be awesome for a dark urge build if it works because hex do not work with melee attack no ?

Yeah it can work nicely. You just need to account for the WIS/CHA split.

@ThePandaGeekster-qu7dr Honestly, there's not much to it. Just use the Gloves Of Dexterity and you're good. Take all those points you would've put into dex and put them in cha instead. You'll have 2 feats, so you'll need to choose what to prioritise. Maybe start with 17 WIS and 16 CHA. Use Ethels Boon for +1 WIS. Then, use your 2 feats for +4 CHA. Slap on the Potent Robe, and you've got a teleporting, darkness using, Eldritch Blasting build. Just remember to take Agonising Blast and Devil's Sight as your invocations. Rest of the equipment is down to preference.

Storm sorcerer in 5e is kind of awful, Larian seems to have gone out of their way to fix some of the bad or broken classes that they have included in bg3.
