Very awesome to see even the narrow gauged roads are still getting some love and appreciation. True underdogs of the railroading world indeed.

I hope they reopen the Congo station soon. It hasn't been open since the train closed last August. I know they'll only have 2 trains available since they want to start repainting the yellow train once they finish the last green car.

Do you know why it's closed?

I've heard different things, mainly because of only two trains being available from refurbishments. They've been running 2 trains daily since late last year. With 2 trains and only two stations it reduces wait times. I've also heard that while the train was closed the shops saw an increase in revenue, with the Congo station closed i guess they thought they would see more foot traffic through Pantopia increasing the sales in that area?

I talked to an engineer one day and he told me it would take between $400,000 to $600,000 to get #4 running again.

Wow that seems awfully high to rebuild a Crown locomotive. But I am not an expert, that's to bad if that's true, I doubt that Busch Gardens will put that kind of money into it.

They should demolish the Congo Train station. I like how the trains do a short run to Nairobi and then a long run back to Stanleyville. I wonder how this would look with a 3 train operation when the 601 returns, cause even with out the Congo station there is still room for a 3 train operation. You can have 2 trains sitting at stations while 1 is at the back of the Serengeti Plains. This will will allow trains to arrive at stations 4-6 minutes after one departs.
