With our 32 hr window starting to close before the rain is suppose to come. The hay appears dry enough to bale. So I go rake up the hay with the Farmall H and the New Holland roll-o-bar rake. Then Stacy, Logan and I work to get the hay baled up. But we have a small issue pop up with the square baler that needed fixing along the way.
We are a small 40 acre direct-to-consumer livestock farm located in Western NY. We provide pasture raised beef, pork, chicken & eggs to our local community. We practice sustainable land practices that utilize natural methods to keep our soils/pastures healthy and our animals happy.
I am the 2nd generation to live on this piece of property after my parents purchased it in 1978. As a child we were not a working farm. But there were dairy farms surrounding us. So naturally I was hooked with farming since I saw my first tractor. As time went on, I worked for a couple of these farms and that only fueled my love of agriculture. In 2019 I was able to move back home as my parents were ready to downsize and I was ready to try my hand at farming. Stacy and logan share the same love of farming as I do. Stacy growing up on her family's dairy farm and logans exposure of farming/tractors at a very young age. Join us on this journey and see where the farm life takes us.

Good to see that old equipment being used still. I had a Hesston 4600 inline small square baler wire tie. The twisters were worn out and could no longer get parts for it so it had to go down the road. Good video

Ah Hesston. Dont see much of that brand around our area. They were good from what iv heard about them though. Didn't Hesston make or rebrand some of there hay equipment for other manufactures? Wire tie isn't something I've seen much around here as well. I did know of one guy about a half hour west of here that ran 5 wire tie New Holland balers. A friend of mine used to work on them. But that was about it for wire ties. I'm sure there were more around though. Thanks for watching the channel.

Thanks. It runs good but she smokes like a freight train. It's in need of new sleeves and pistons. It's on the long list of things to do. Thanks for watching our channel. Its greatly appreciated.

Cool,,, farming seems like working for nothing sometimes but at the same time it’s ok too “because it’s farming” ❤

Yup you are 100% correct. But I wouldn't have it any other way in life. There's a huge sense of fulfillment that I get from the type of farming I do that I've never had from any other job or lifestyle that I have had or led.

My NH 268 works good with sisal 9000. I allways break that first BIG bale and rebale. I used my Farmall H to bale then I got a Farmall 504 and a Allis D15.

I use 7200 sisal twine. I have thought about trying the plastic twine but have not yet. I've heard the older balers don't like the poly twine. Mostly because the knotters are usually worn and have a hard time cutting the twine. But that's just what I've heard. I ran my baler on my Farmall H once as well just to try it. But I don't care for not having live pto. Thanks for watching our channel. Its greatly appreciated.

I guess that's a good reason. 🤣 I don't mind eating out once in a while. especially breakfast. But I love homemade corned beef hash (not the caned premade crap) and over easy eggs from our hens. Thats my favorite all day long.

You won't even get it up before it spoils everyone knows that you can't farm with a red tractor and expect to accomplish something it's got to be Green and yellow to get the job done

Nice job on the baling. Older equipment still gets the job done. Thanks for sharing👍

Thanks. I like using the older equipment. It doesn't have to be shinny and new to be effective. Infact the newer stuff just has to many bells and whistles on them that require a dealer's attention at ridiculously high shop labor rates (I know because i worked as a tech at a tractor/equipment dealer for 8 years). I can fix everything on the farm without a computer or any fancy tools. Saves me lots of money being able to fix myself. Thank you for watching the channel.
