Well done sir👍Finally one perfect technical rewiew of Bali 5.8! I was looking some info about engine brand which are mounted on this boat unfortunately all I could find is a rewiew of those "two models" showing us their fashion clothes and looking for dishwashers on board😞 There are no basic tech infos even on BALIs website! Otherways I am a bit confused about a quality🙄 The ex works price for this boat is 1,5 mil euros which is almost 2 mil less than similar sized FP or Lagoon!? What is the catch here??

Thank you! There is no catch. I think that the boat is just realistically priced. Catana has received discounts on raw materials after the pandemic and are passing the savings on to the clients instead of keeping all the profits to themselves. All the boats have become way too expensive, understandably because building materials became so expensive because of the shortages during Covid but that has changed. And it has to eventually trickle down to the buyer. Anyway, we are on our boat which is hull 1 and have sailed it and it is a good boat. No boat is perfect of course but there are no glaring problems that we have encountered so far.

It's a wonderfull floating apartment, but it wouldn't last one cold front down south. Imagine a 25 ton cat charging down a 10 meter wave and digging into the trough.......

I try not to imagine that scenario in any type of boat. I would prefer not to have to sail in those conditions at all, although we have had to a few times around Cape Town and the North Atlantic in the winter time. However, these boats are a lot more robust that you might imagine and we have sailed in some helacious conditions in our Bali 5.4. It was by no means pleasant but it is doable. But I would agree that sometimes the conditions get the best of some sailors and boats.

I have heard this sentiment from someone before. But you 're right, Bali has really upped the game on this model! We are working through the boat as we speak to fix a few warranty items but we honestly have not really found anything that rings alarm bells. The quality of the workmanship has also improved and the finishes are nice.
