basically: thick: - better tolerances - slows your balisong down - helps your sound - lasts longer medium: - slightly help tolerances - barely *if at all* slows your balisong down - slight sound boost - lasts "average" thin: - doesn't help toerances - make your balisong faster - gets everywhere in your pivots - lasts hours

good video! Quick info about oil: my oil (thick) as well as carbon honey (thick) do not slow down the swing and action as long as the knife has good swing and action, but other oils may like kpl thick. both my oil and carbon honey scentless have 0 smell and are completely scentless. the black build up around washers is a result friction from unpolished/dirty washers (and sometimes the surface of bushings), if you want to reduce it greatly be sure to disassemble, polish, and make sure every area of contact is oiled. scent if done right does not effect performance. additives like pfte and graphene will keep the knife smooth after the sound the oil gives the knife wears off, if the oil is thicker it will take longer to wear off.

So this is probably only a me thing. I am also a speed cuber . I think I'm just gonna use my Rubik's cube lube which is silicone based seems to work fine for me and I don't think it will hurt the metal.

How do you apply lube to a Rubik's Cube?

@@Florp3434 it comes in like an eyedrop bottle, and you put it in between the corner and middle peace right in the crack and squeeze a couple of drops in

I've used anything from 10w30, various paintball gun oil and greases, gun lubricants, to olive and cooking oils. As long as its not too thin I'm pretty good with whatever. Been stuck on super lube for the past 2 or so years tho. I think im in the camp of "oil is oil" and using it to silence tap. Like you said tho, had to do alot of experimenting to get to my conclusion as well.

Is super lube considered medium?
@G0ATHR0B2 жыл бұрын
@@intothebreak571 Super mid fr fr But yes it is a great medium. Usually sticks on for about 2-3 days or so on my edc bali.

Just FYI, 99% certain that the gunk from Carbon Honey is actually the graphene additive seeping out. It's the main reason I stopped using Carbon Honey in favor of Super Lube, because that black buildup just really annoys me and I always feel compelled to clean it off. With Super Lube, the area around my pivots stays way cleaner.

dont apply thick oil like thin. Make sure to put a lot on and really work it in as it is very viscous. It should last very long
