You forgot somthing to add... before ending the exam and if you sitll have plenty of time double check and if it is possible do a firendly reboot just to verify that VMs reboot correctly and then end the exam. it is not about how fast you complete the exam, it is about you do it right.

But before you reboot, make sure to do your # mount -a to be sure your file systems are mounted and dont run into issues after a reboot

I have some common questions related with the exam (1) what will be the bootable platform (like Virtaul Box/VMware) (2) can we get the internet connectivity by default ( host system is having the internet connectivity) (3) How can we identify the 2 VMs and what is the difference between these 2 VMs (4) in which machine i have to setup the host name and ip configurations (5) in which system we need to break the root password and in which machine/VM need to setup the NTP and repository configuration.....

1. There is neither VMware nor Virtual box.. You will make a live USB using Fedora.. The entire procedure is detailed in video.. Refer the PDF as mentioned in video. 2. Yes.. The connectivity will be tested during setup 3. The machines will be accessible from the main window.. They are easily identifiable.. Just read the instructions 4. It depends on questions for each machine.. 5. Again depend upon the question.. It doesn't matter on which machine it is to be done.. As long you know how to do it

I took the exam last Monday but I couldn't pass it. I couldn't realize how to deal with a password that was given to node1. it not only for node1 it is almost for all users in the system. what I did was break a root password as if it is forgotten but at the end of the process, the system got into a not usable state and couldn't mount the data to VM. could you give me some idea how to deal with it.

Dear John You should not change the password until asked to do so.. Login with the root account or any other user if required and use the password that is mentioned in the instructions. Root password reset is required only for one of the nodes for which it is specifically mentioned in the question. Also, for that particular machine they won't mention the root password. There is no need to reboot the system for any question. It's not a requirement rather a wastage of time. Did you Reset the system by mistake? Because in that case you loose whatever you have done.

Reset is the last resort.. What you tried was the correct approach.. Lvmremove was correct.. I think you mighy have executed the command in an incorrect manner..just go through the procedure to remove lvm.. N do try it multuple times at your system.. Infact do this for all topics i. e. What would you do if you make any mistake while performing any task.. How to revert back to a safe state is what you should learn now

Dear Sir, as I understand from comments we can not do copy / paste in exam for any text from questions to terminal e.g. if want to copy some output from terminal to a file opened in vi editor, this is also not doable in exam, so all need to write manually? there are chances of mistake if type longer example uuid, please advise how to handle this situation comfortably

There would hardy be any instance where you want to copy paste except like the one you highlighted. But believe me even typing yourself is not an issue. Just be relaxed and type with caution.. Thats all. If you make an error in UUID then when you will do mount -a, you will get an error. So you would come to knw that something went wrong.

Very much like the practice lab environment but I still spent at least 10 min on finding the server. Didn't get a chance to try alt tab but escape is not allowed, have to use the on screen keyboard, that also took some time. Idea to get around is same but looks different, I had to ask the chat support to get into the server others couldn't do any question, but once you are in, everything is straightforward. Get the biggest laptop screen possible for more space Remember external monitor and keyboard not allowed, they didn't say no to my mouse but I didn't want to touch it to get disqualify. The big paragraph in the beginning also took some time to understand and I personally find it hard to understand. Like the checkbox besides each small question ( not the radio button beside the main question) do I have to check them to indicate that's done or just for us to keep track for ourselves?

How is RHCSA exam scored? Is it more important to get the end result they are looking for on a question, or about the steps you are taking to get there? For instance, if you don't take exact accurate steps to complete the question, would they deduct points even if you get the question correct in the end? not possible. I simply open multiple terminals and write the UUID manually on one terminal while looking its value from the other terminal

No.. No compulsion.. U can if you want to check that everything that you have done is persistent or not

There's no counter.. And i didn't understand what you mean by ensuring my question is done.. You can check if the required task is implemented or not e.g. if they ask to create a user.. Then after creating the user check in the /etc/passwd file..

For detailed syllabus you can check the exam website. They are simple topics so i assume there should not be much issue. Please keep in mind that there are no fixed questions, They can ask question from any topic that is mentioned in the syllabus. You should cover as much syllabus as you can to increase your chances of clearing the test.
