Ball Joint Replacement 2006 Subaru Forester

In this video I replace a lower ball joint on a 2006 Subaru Forester SOHC Auto. Hi love your video's Question: Is there a torque setting for the axle nut when you put back cv shaft???. Or do you even have to even take off the cv shaft. Because iv seen other videos where they just removed one side of the stablelizer link. Thank you man.

Hey my friend. There is always a torque setting or torque spec for an axle nut. I'm not sure however what you are trying to ask me. Are you doing the ball joint replacement or stabilizer link replacement? With regards to the ball joint sometimes you can do it without removing the CV shaft but I didn't want her to get more room to work with the ball joint we usually remove the CV shaft and not. The shaft itself does not come out of the car though. I hope that helps you.

Just a question on installing lower arm ball joint: is it that simple to put back into the arm or is it required to be pressed in somehow? Thx! Great video!!!

When installing the ball joint on either end it is not required for you to press anything in. It should go in nice and easily if you have cleaned up the hole on the spindle. As for the control arm you shouldn't have anything to really clean up just make sure there is no debris in the hole before you put it back in and then just torque the nut to the proper specification for your application and then continue turning the castle nut until you have a hole for your cotter pin lining up with the hole in the ball joint.
