I absolutely love this performance. This is why I started playing flute in the first place: for the magical enchanting atmosphere you can bring/create. Well done Sébastian, thank you so much!

This flute i play for the Gaubert is actually Jacques Zoon's flute and was made in 1900 by a Paris maker..sorry i cannot remember the name right now..The flute i play in CPE Bach or Flight is actually a copy of this flute made by Haynes on Jacques's demand in 2000. They only made a few of them i believe 3..sorry it cannot be bought..;-)

The spare use of vibrato shows the true color of the tone. And it's lovely.

Superb - love the wooden flute's power and timbre - and the beautiful virtually vibrato-free control and strength of tone-production. Nice piece too. If more modern flute playing were like this I'd be more interested!

I really like your playing, Sebastian. Your sound has inspired me to consider a wooden flute. Looking forward to hearing more of your playing in the future.

This is one of the coolest videos on KZbin! I know you don't have an IG account (you said it when we met in Düsseldorf a few months ago), but if you allow me, I would really share a short snippet of this clip on my quite well viewed account. It would inspire housands of young people. May I?

They age the wood to dry it and make it stable. Once cutted, the trees should be left in salt water for about 3 years, then should be pre cutted and drilled and aged for 10 to 15 years. Also the trees themself should be about 50 years old for the wood to be the most stable and never crack. Sadly today cocus wood trees don't exist anymore. A lot have been planted but they cut it after 10 years and age it for 5 and therefore the quality is not the same..

It's a wooden flute, most likely grenadilla wood to be specific. It creates a much more warm, smooth sound than flutes made from precious metals.

@GatameOne it's actually old lol. Flute makers who make flutes out of wood age the wood for ten years before making it into a flute. Personally I'd use a wood flute for baroque or early classical music just for the pure smooth sound of it. Lol

Ugh. What took that stupid audience so long to applaud after he walked out on stage? It wasn't until the pianist walked out that they applauded. Bizarre.
@MrSbas12085 жыл бұрын
Haha don't worry, i was playing a whole exam recital and coming on and off stage rather quickly. They probably got tired of applauding :)
