BALLAN WRASSE FISHING - NORTH ANGLESEY UK

Footage from last years holiday at Bull bay on the Island of Anglesey in North Wales.
Join me on the rocks fishing for the amazing Ballan Wrasse using Lures & ledgered Prawns. These fish fight hard & are great fun to catch on light gear although strong line is needed with the rocks & powerful Sea testing your tackle.
I managed a few fish including a Lovely 2-3lber which will live long in the memory...

Hi Steve mate, yeah I've walked the Dearne a few times this last 2 weeks, loads of Chub n a few good Barbel n Bream about too 😮, what's your plans come June 16th mate?

@@yorkshireriverrover7199 Hi pete Going for a, quick session at Dunham when it opens midnight but may drop some bait in were I fish on dearne and try it later on when seasons opened you know what it's like at moment it's all over grown I've noticed that he bream have spawned above the bridge and did see shoals of chub with some barbel mixed in on the gravels

Such a great place Anglesey! only been once for a few days camping last year (with no fishing gear!) but loved the place and will be back this Summer. What hook size would you normally use? the 16 you had to make do with on the day 2 part of the vid seemed to do ok, but would you normally use something like a 10 or bigger with prawns? All the best mate.

It is a lovely place, not to busy in the summer holidays too which is good.. I'm back there in August 😀.. yeah size 10 are about right with Prawns... hoping to get some Ragworm this time as heard its tge best bait for Wrasse... make sure you definitely take your rods this year pal 👍. That small wrasse was stunning Pete and gratz on the PB did you get an official weight or did you forget I wasn’t there with my scales 😂

Cheers me old mate.... no never got an exact weight pal, no scales with me again as usual 😂... man these Wrasse are pure muscle... fight hard n seek the nearest snag like Big Chub do.... looking forward to fishing together again mate, roll on June 16th 😮👍🎣

@@Sylakk going to bean EPIC season I think pal, lots of ideas n venues to hit.... that Small Wrasse is a Corkwing Wrasse mate... Cuckoos are more colourful...

Yeah bud stayed there again, went lady month too n stayed in the big white Cottage one house up, was lovely with amazing views... bit pricey tho 😕
