We’ve got footage of the Botanical gardens and around the lake, that’s the closest we’re going to get for a while. Ballarat is awfully far from Melbs when using Vline and public transport!

I love Ballarat, but I can't help but feel like its CBD is stuck in the 1980s. Many of the historic buildings look great from across the street, but then when you see them up close they're definitely in need of a power wash and some could definitely use a makeover and its pretty obvious that the upper floors of many of the older buildings are either completely empty or simply used for storage when there are way better things you could do with the space. I remember the CBD feeling very car-oriented too, so much of the street space is taken up by parking for cars, the roads are astronomically wide when compared to the space set aside for people outside of cars. At least they didn't bulldoze a bunch of historic buildings for surface parking lots like American cities though
