Visited Geelong for a few days a couple of months ago. Nice place. Botanics & seafront are worth a visit. The Holiday Inn on Ryrie Street is worth checking out for a stay.

I love Ballarat, but I can't help but feel like its CBD is stuck in the 1980s. Many of the historic buildings look great from across the street, but then when you see them up close they're definitely in need of a power wash and some could definitely use a makeover and its pretty obvious that the upper floors of many of the older buildings are either completely empty or simply used for storage when there are way better things you could do with the space. I remember the CBD feeling very car-oriented too, so much of the street space is taken up by parking for cars, the roads are astronomically wide when compared to the space set aside for people outside of cars. At least they didn't bulldoze a bunch of historic buildings for surface parking lots like American cities though

It's lovely to see this area so peaceful. Not sure when this was shot. The school drop off's are crazy at high Street and the traffic is beyond crazy. We moved out as it's getting way too crowded and feels like China town now.

That is a great station , thanks for the tour. In an odd way it reminds me of an elevated train station just outside of Boston that was torn down when they rerouted the Orange line. It was replaced by a cold concrete no character platform.

I only knew there was a place called Geelong, because one of the old lags in 'Prisoner' (Cell Block H) mentioned she was from there. :)
