I'M TOTALLY OCD WITH HAIR TOO!!!! I can't stand that one little bump in my ponytail... I'll have to go take it out... I've been trying to find a french twist tutorial for my super thin (and kinda short) hair and I'm going to try this out - wish me luck, I'll comment how it goes!!

no offense, just a tip: that bobby pin you showed us is technically called a french pin - bobby pins are not U shaped
