Per usual, the Australian Ballet SLAYS IT again with this stunning video! Whoever art directs and edits these videos deserves a big bonus. Absolutely phenomenal design and concept work, not to mention the gorgeous dancers :)

What makes me mad is when people think that ballet is just an easy, waste of time art form for girly girls and guys. But what they don’t understand is how much work and time a ballerina puts into their career.

Even I drink 2-3 litres of water a day and I'm a somewhat sedentary 5'3 person. These people need more water

There seems to be a doctrine of negative suffering that needs to be adhered to when participating in the ballet, reaching the level of fanaticism once becoming a member of a company and these people are waited on hand and foot everyday by staff who include doctors, physical therapists and diet experts. Most of a dancers time is spend lazing around waiting to get on stage when they should really be practicing to get their routines up to par, most ballet dancers look like they are just doing movement as not one of them is able to move to music, being out preformed by TikTok in this department despite being trained since birth. Further more most dancers, even company professionals, don’t have a zeal for the stage so that what you see in the studio is only a fraction of what you get on stage some even forgetting whole routines while on stage. It’s a big problem which is never really addressed and it is this insular nature born from bad genetics that is the main reason for ballets decline over the years. The fix would be to chose and train up young people born of out breeding, talent instead of privilege is what’s required although that would require a radical social paradigm shift.
