Episode 7 of the Shades of Life Podcast with Jamiel Devernay-Laurence.
There is a wind of change taking place in the workplace, led by courageous and inspired entrepreneurs.
Our identities are closely tied to our jobs for a significant portion of our lives. However, many of us will have experienced investing a lot of ourselves in our work, only to feel undervalued and easily replaceable in return.
In the context of creating social change, new leaders are emerging, challenging top-down approaches and breaking away from traditional structures.
The goal?
• Paving the way for a more inclusive and equitable environment
• Fostering a more collaborative and diversified approach
• Creating new resources and opportunities that can benefit everyone involved
Our new guest on the Shades of Life Podcast is one of these new bold entrepreneurs challenging the rules in his industry.
Jamiel Devernay-Laurence is a Dance Entrepreneur and Artistic Director creating a new vision and a new category in the dance ecosystem where he operates - one that redefines and elevates the experience for everyone involved: the dancers, the public, his own management team and other stakeholders such as other dance companies.
When we put people first, when we uplift each other, we can co-create something truly remarkable. This is what Jamiel is doing with Ballet Nights, a new ambitious dance show taking place in London and soon abroad.
The show is not only different and ambitious in his programme but also in how it breaks traditional codes.
Jamiel shares why and how in our conversation and it is a true inspiration no matter the industry you operate in.
