I think 44 is perfect for pitchers, a good way to express yourself with a custom look, but you aren’t to hindered by the quality, because you aren’t consistently making plays with the glove.

Because I grew up in the '60s, I thought I'd share a good laugh with you guys. My first glove cost me all of. . $5. That's right, sports fans. It was an "Al Kaline" black model. Not even sure who made it. I paid 50 cents a week on a payment plan from Western Auto. Our little town didn't even have a sporting goods store. I loved that glove and used it until I got to HS. I played college ball and a couple of years in A ball, then later continued to play amateur baseball until I was 50. My "go to" glove was the Wilson A2000. I know it cost under $75. A couple of years back, for fun, I was walking through the glove dept at Dicks Sporting Goods. Picked up a Wilson A2000. Price. .$325. I just held it on my hand. Now I know what it feels like wearing something "gold". The times have changed things for sure. Oh, btw, while some around me still used mules to plow their cornfields when I grew up, I'm happy to say that cars DID use gasoline.

@@ballgloveking Glad you enjoyed it. I share your appreciation for a good ball glove. I don't have to apologize about being a "fossil" because I am one but it's true, the baseball glove often plays pivotal roles in life. Many a father started his kid out with a good "catch". In the movie "Field of Dreams", the scene involving Kevin Costner being able to have a catch with his father who "comes back to life" is one of the most powerful ever. It makes the movie complete and solidifies the link between father and son using an item most every little boy gets. . a baseball glove. In time, I hope you have a couple of sons. With your cache of gloves, you'll need "catchers" to use them all. Keep 'em oiled.

If you are getting a 44 you could try requesting a tighter hand stall or if you’re getting a Wilson you should get one that has the “Pedroia fit” which means it’ll have a tighter wrist/ hand slot

Do people just not know about Nokona gloves anymore? I've never in my life felt a better glove than the ones Nokona makes. Nolan Ryan even has a story about buying his first Nokona. Granted, it could still be a Texas thing since they're out of Nokona, TX, but I would've figured they'd be more popular today based on how it was back in the 90s and early 00s.

I owned a nokona glove and it got small so I had to buy a new glove, but I went back onto nokona’s website and they were all 500+

I’m looking at their site now and the lip leather glove is $250. I can get a Rawlings HOH or Wilson A2K for that. It’s a bummer they raised their prices so much.

What size do you use for slowpitch softball? And what position do you use it for? I play third and some outfield so I’d like one I could use for both. I was thinking a 13 inch but I’m not sure? Also what model would be best, id like the H web
@cesareduardomunoz2469 Жыл бұрын
I used a 13 inch glove for outfield and infield and I have the H web and I like it a lot !

Can someone help me, I’m trying to get a new glove and don’t know much about 44. Should I get the pro 44 one or the crown tip one. For third second and short. I like it more stiff like my a2000 was
@ballgloveking3 жыл бұрын
That’s really up to you, I think I’d personally prefer the pro 44 model
@krissycampagna25873 жыл бұрын
Stick with an a2000 model. If your looking for firm. I only used firm gloves when j played. I used an 11in, I was a ss. I also had a 10 and 3/4 ssk it may have still been sasaki at the time considering this is over 20 years ago. But that was prob my fav glove. And it was the firmest glove. It had a great pocket too.

please help, whenever i try to break in gloves there is always a bubble where my 2 in the pinky are. i’ve tried like 4 gloves and i just can’t not have bubbles, nearly 1k down the drain please

This happens when you are forcing the glove closed. You should never have to force your glove closed basically. So use a mallet/ ball to get the palm and heel loose enough to close it enough to at least play catch

What was the color of the web of the glove with full blonde and dual welting? I couldn’t tell and couldn’t find it on their website. Was it just gray because it looked a little blue? Or was that the navy Great video like all the others btw
@ballgloveking3 жыл бұрын
Good question, it’s navy blue and it’s got some major fading from the sun after using it
@andrewgarcia95403 жыл бұрын
44 feels like a cheaper version of an A2000. Bought the JP11 and ended up selling it for a loss. I’d look into the Wilson Glove Bonanza. Bought an A2000 for 185 and also a A2K for 235.

Would rather rock with a dual or single welting and what is the difference between both of them in performance
@ballgloveking3 жыл бұрын
They feel different for sure and it’s all about preference so everyone is different but I’d say dual welting is going to cause the finger stalls to feel thicker/stiffer
