EE jacket size info is confusing. I ordered both the medium and large and kept the large and returned the medium. Large is my normal size but EE's sizing chart put me at a medium

Exactly. 🙄

You said that EE doesn’t know you, after buying three jackets in 3 months they definitely know you
2 years later... I got my Torrid Apex jacket and it's great. The only cons are the elastics, especially at the hem. You have to get used to it. The sizing is rather accurate but considering the overall fit it seems to be more for the slender hiker. I am 6 ft, 168 lbs with a (more or less...) slim frame and a M is working fine.

I don’t mind the hem or sleeve cuffs so much. I found their size chart east wcxurate for me, but everyone’s comfort level varies. Glad you’re liking it. Mine is still rocking! Thanks for watching!

Thanks for the video. If you are 5'8" and a large fits you as it does in this video there is no way the Torrid will fit me at 6'2" and 163lbs. I have seen comments on other reviews complaining that it is only built for tall guys. Your video confirms it is not. Thanks again.

Good vid. My experience with EE clothing has been the same as yours… their stuff runs small. Whether jackets or pants, they run small. They were good to deal with and exchanged the pants as they were not custom. The Torrid jacket is great. With a light merino 150 layer I’m more than warm down to 0 degree F wind chill while walking here in the UP.

Had the same scenario with my Torrid jacket! Almost always wear a large, but their sizing said a medium, so ordered a custom Torrid in October for my Christmas present. Got it, tried it on and WTF, its soo tight around the chest and hips. Have worn it around the yard, but I guess I too will have to sell it 😕. Oh, and the stock Torrid is made in Vietnam!!! The large by their sizing would have me swimming in it, but it looks find on you, so who knows. EE is really messed up in their sizing chart. I may just switch to a different brand.

Hey Rob! Glad I found this video! How do you like the 7D? Durable enough? Also what's your chest measurement? According to their size chart, I'm right in the middle of medium... 42" chest, 33" waist, 5'11 and about 200lbs.... Looks like a large would be a lot better!
@robpelton2 жыл бұрын
I find the 7D is just fine. I’m pretty easy on it though I typically just wear it in camp. Not sure my chest measurement, but I’d guess a Large would fit you best. Just my opinion though. Thanks for watching!

@tomlucas47883 жыл бұрын
The thing holding me back from purchasing one is the sizing. I’m thinking I’ll have to just buy “off the rack”. Return it then buy custom color and material. The biggest complaint I hear from reviews is the sizing aspect. Another great job Rob

Great video Rob, I just bought a stock Torrid, It's great. I am disappointed in their customer response though. I asked what size stuff sack it would fit in (preferably in Litres) they said they weren't sure. They wouldn't take time to find out how packable their packable jacket is. Anyhow, do you have any thoughts on stuff sack size for this, thanks.
@robpelton3 жыл бұрын
I have a large and it comfortably fits in a 4L sack. This is with 3 roll downs. So, 3L at its smallest I’d say.

I'm 6'1 175lbs fairly broad shoulders with athletic but not huge and and like the medium but I didn't want it to be super baggy. It fits well with all enough room for decent layering. Also the Visp rain jacket is designed to wear over it and it does so well.

I have this jacket. Actually, the exact one you sent over seas. I haven’t used it on a bigger hike, as it comes unzipped from the bottom not sure why. I have yet to contact EE about the problem. What I will say is: yes it’s expensive, but reasonably priced when you consider comparable jackets. Yes you have wait they are a small company and covid craziness doesn’t help. It is however hands down the warmest puffy I have ever put on and I own a lot of them. So zipper problems aside awesome jacket!

Hi Im also eyeboling this jacket and have simmilar questions like you had, for example the sizing, Im from europe and us sizing is at least one size up from our charts, I looked on their site and its quite confusing, at first they have pictures with dudes in different sizes, and they used the smallest chest circumferences. Normally I wear L and my chest size is 42 ish, so M would be ok? If I may ask, what size is your chest when you ordered M and it was too small for you? And the second, perhaps more important question, how well keeps this jacket drafts away if you used the 7D outer and inner material. Im looking for good breathable jacket, but I dont want to be cold because the material is too breathable or not so wind resistatnt, I heard that the 10D has 10cfm and 7D 35 cfm, dont know if it rings a bell by you but those are nummbers how breathable something is and 10 cfm is quite good and 35cfm is perhaps too much, so Im quite curious how it performs.
@robpelton3 жыл бұрын
I’m the same. 42ish. The fabric blocks wind very well. That is one of the factors that help store warmth. I have never noticed a buildup of moisture due to the fabric. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!
