I lived in Egypt! I walked to school every day and you could see the Great Pyramids of Giza from the top of our apartment building. Cairo is such a beautiful city so rich with history, and the Egyptian people are so friendly and welcoming. I no longer live there; we were there during the Egyptian Revolution in 2011 and were evacuated as refugees. That part was scary, but I still count it as my favourite place in the world that I've lived! Political climate is a tad uneasy, but I think it would be and amazing trip for you and the kids if managed safely! Also for Jessica - the Bedouins make the best tea I've ever had! :) Love to your family

As many others have observed in their comments, and as I am sure you realized while all this was going on, so many elements were potentially disastrous had the kids not been as great as they are. I can't imagine my parents taking me and my four siblings abroad when we were the ages of your children and all of us surviving to talk about it. By the time we took a family trip to London, we "kids" were all grown up. Hats off to all of you.

I’m from Egypt!! You should definitely come visit. I’ve traveled a lot, but no matter where I go, I miss it so much. The culture, history, FOOD, sights, and people are so special. You & Colleen were the first KZbinrs I ever watched. Seeing Egypt on the vlogs would be so cool! 💖

Duncan you are so funny. I love the head nodding, and that smile melts my heart. How fantastic of you guys to just make the best of things. Mistakes happen and what an example to set your children by accepting it and making it fun. Very understanding and gracious of you both. (obviously off camera you could have been shouting and screaming but really I can't see it.) You all seemed pretty chilled on the underground... I remember feeling totally anxious the whole time when I visited London. The weather in the UK is very unpredictable, although this year it has been so hot and most people have craved air conditioning as generally our buildings and homes are equipped for a milder, cooler climate, so plenty of insulation to keep us toasty warm! Jessica I have been researching my family tree and my 2nd great grandfather and family lived in London and it is truly fascinating what I have found out. There is a street in London that was rebuilt and you can see the old street sign attached to the wall but below the street level.. Even without the museums there is a lot of history right where you walk. Loving these holiday vlogs xxx

I have slept in a bathtub before... my father was snoring so loud I couldn’t sleep so I grabbed the duvet and bed in the tub. My dad freaked out when he woke up and seen I wasn’t in bed. Probably should have told someone I changed my sleeping arrangements. Oh well, it was one of the best nights sleep I have ever had. Very comfy. 10/10 would recommend

Only the most well rounded children woukd actually be excited about a mixup at a hotel, leaving them with no beds. When I was Bailey's age, I would have had a full fledged tantrum at that, and I am not proud of that, but its the truth. Props for such great parenting by you two because your children are awesome

We took our kids to Egypt in 2000. They were 6, 9 and 12. We were surprised by how close the city was to the pyramids. We took a dinner cruise and the captain let the kids drive the boat. I hear it isn’t as safe now as when we went.
