This reminded me that I should start to include more content and tutorials for beginner balloon artists and so, here's quick tutorial showing you how to inflate the number 0 foil balloon. will this balloon float? not sure if i need helium pump or if a cheaper hand pump would do

The balloon will not float if you fill it with air. You would need to inflate with helium if you want it to float.

Do foil numbers need to be heat sealed? The one in your video seems to stay inflated but you’ve done a video on heat sealing so I’m not sure if mine will stay inflated without heat sealing… mine do say ‘valve’ on them but I can’t see how it seals!

Hi Rebecca. You don't need to heat seal balloons with valves as the valve is self-sealing. It's a one-way valve so the air (or helium) goes in but doesn't come straight back put through the valve. The balloon will gradually lose gas by osmosis. The heat-sealing technique is for the valveless balloons, which tend to be the smaller foil balloons. Hope this helps 🎈

You're welcome. Here's a link to a video in which I show you how to attach a foil balloon to a small tower. You attach the number balloons in exactly the same way, but your tower would need to be made of larger balloons (11 or 12 inch rounds) sized to 8 or 9 inches. Hey I have a ?. I recently order a bunch of blacknlight balloons for my daughters party on the 19th. Package came and I opened to check b them out and ..OMG THEY STINK LIKE PAINT THINNER . How can I get them not to smell soo bad.

Hi Heather. Great question. I haven't used that particular brand. As a general comment, latex balloons don't last forever and the smell you describe is probably the smell of rubber biodegradong. It could be that the balloons you bought were old stock or hadn't been stored appropriately. You won't be able to get rid of the smell. It might be worth going back to wherever you bought the balloons to see if you can get them exchanged. Have a look at the packaging to see if there's any kind of code that might give you an indication of the date of manufacture. Qualatex certainly put this on their packaging, but I don't know whether the brand you've purchased does. Hope this helps.
