It used to freak me out as well, but I began popping random balloons on purpose, and eventually I desensitized myself. I can even bite-pop a big over-filled balloon now like it's nothing. Oops! I made this vid a few years ago back when I sometimes excluded certain steps. I believe I attached the nozzle right behind the left eye, positioning the bubble cluster vertically. I think the nozzle isn’t actually long enough to comfortably tie the bubble cluster in, so I recommend adding a small piece of extra 260 to the nozzle so it can be more easily positioned and attached. Hope this helps!

That’s wonderful! I only ever use one brand and model of hand pump, which is the Qualatex Dual-Action Hand Inflator. You will have to purchase this on amazon or eBay, or you could just use a dollar store hand pump. It would take more time to inflate the balloons, but on a design like this it shouldn’t be too troublesome. Thank you for your question.

Hi! It has been a while since I made this vid, but let’s see - the seaweed should be almost entirely full, save for a bit of a tip at the end so it can be tied into the base from both nozzle and tail. The tentacles should be basically inflated fully, and the clear 260 should be inflated to less than half so there is room to make a bunch of twists. If you need further info I will rewatch the vid and explain instructions even better.
