@@BalloonSage Yes please do so... There is no info on the net about how to make this next step, not even a priced option. Leaving in a country with no balloon twisting tradition, any direction/though process would be of great help. I feel like I am no longer learning by copying designs and would be so happy if I can make another step into my balloon twisting journey :) thanx for all the great tutorials btw!

I just made this design! I've been twisting with balloons for a few months now and this was kind of my graduation test to check if I could do more complicated designs. I'm pretty happy with the result! I messed a few things up but that's alright. The snout kept untwisting so I tightend that a bit with an extra uninflated balloon, and the snout also came out a bit wrong because I didn't have enough of my balloons left. The neck also is a bit sloppy, as are the flames... But it looks like a dragon! And a pretty cool one at that thanks to your design! Thanks very much for your video! You rock!

Hi! The dragon head sculpt is one of my favorite designs. I remember in my first few months of twisting when I was learning more advanced designs from some more difficult tutorials and it felt great to see my skills progress. I also have a bracelet version of this dragon you might like to try as well so check that out. Thanks for watching.

Last year I was contacted by our local Harley Dealer to provide them with Dragon balloon hats (their logo is a dragon)... not being the creative type, I'm more of a copier, I wasn't able to find anything that they deemed "worthy" (these Harley people can be strange). Anything I tried to conjure ended up looking like a mean unicorn... but THIS my friend, this I'm sure will definitely be worthy. I'll be contacting them to see when their event is again this year & I'll show up with one of these. Of course they'll probably not want to spend much - they wanted over 100 balloon hats last year. I'll have to make a production line if I were to get this gig. By the way Mr Sage, I have to tell you that I so much appreciate how you present your tutorials. I love that you show us the design before so we can see where you are going with your twists and pinches. You speak clearly, and you're straight to the point. Thank you. Wow - I need to curb myself on novel writing! :-)

On a another note I recently purchased some LEDs as per your suggestion on another video but is there a specific type? I feel like mine keep facing the wrong way and go upside down , any info would help. I plan to sell lit balloons at night

+Carousel Entertainment hi! Thank you so much for the detailed comment! LEDs are a tricky thing, and to be perfectly honest I don't currently have a favorite type to use, and the video you watched was likely my rose tutorial from almost 2 years ago that featured the idea. @BalloonSage
@BalloonSage 8 жыл бұрын
Hi, that's an interesting question, because it will vary from individual to individual. My deal is that every single balloon animal is a new design that I make a video out of and share as soon as possible. The dragon head sculpts can be pre-made and kept in an air tight bag so that you have a head start for your customer and line work is much faster. Also, you could switch the fire from 3 braided 160s to 2 swirled 260s. The truth is that I get these designs out on KZbin before I have even perfected twisting them, and sometimes my original balloon models go from idea to prototype to final design to making a video about it to editing the footage to uploading it, all in the span of a single day. Basically, I don't know, haha!

Is this quick enough for you to do at kids parties? What else do you do besides kids parties? I did a festival and it cost me to buy a vendor spot. I definitely make more doing kids parties and don't have to pay to be there or spend as much in overhead costs.
@BalloonSage
@BalloonSage 5 жыл бұрын
I sometimes tone down certain designs (such as this one) that normally take a long time and omit certain details to make it a viable linework option. I used to do a lot of kids parties and other events but I moved more toward online instruction and video making.
@BalloonSage
@BalloonSage 5 жыл бұрын
I remember putting in a “bid” in order to retain a spot at certain events, and we would be offering a percentage of our revenue as payment. Whoever offered the highest percentage to the venue would win the space. Balloon twisting ain’t exactly a massively money-generating prospect, which is a truth that disenchanted me a bit after a couple years of participating in the business. Balloon decorating can generate a lot of money, however, so consider honing your arch and column skills if you haven’t already. I hope you don’t mind me speaking frankly - I have recently grown a bit weary of the overly positive persona I portray here on my channel and wanted to talk like a real person for once.

Hi. Well, I mean, it is usually proper etiquette to do so lest someone mistake it for your own personal design. Honestly, I really like seeing recreations of my balloons, and it would be great if I could check out your Instagram. You can feel free to omit credit in my case - but I can’t speak for other twisters. Most likely nobody is going to give you a hard time if you don’t add our names, as long as you aren’t pretending they are your original creations.
@BalloonSage
@BalloonSage 5 жыл бұрын
I’m not an Instagram user, but I have seen people recreate my work and post pics of it there. I wouldn’t credit anyone but give creator info if somebody asks about any design from any twister. Many twisters you have learned from probably don’t even make vids anymore, if you learned from who I learned from.

Hi. That's strange, most people can hear it. I think with the loud twisting it can sometimes drown out my words through certain speakers. Because I don't really have a microphone it is sometimes difficult to hear me over the squeaks of the balloons. I love the Balloon and how you do it. But seriously, do you have to wear a shirt with filthy language on it. Kids watch these kinds of videos.
@BalloonSage
@BalloonSage 8 жыл бұрын
Hi Andrew. I'm answering you with respect, I promise. Honestly, kids don't watch my videos. These videos are instructions for adults and my detailed statistics on my videos that KZbin gives me confirms this. I never swear in my vids, I'm always polite to my audience, but sometimes I Just want to express myself . I love that Australia shirt and I wear it all the time. Truly, if a kid is savvy enough to notice and read that, then they are already fully aware of what the word is and probably use it with their friends. Even the bible has swear words in it, and parents want their kids to read it, so I feel it's all about context. I have never received a complaint about this shirt in public or on one of my videos before, from parents or anyone. My videos consist of me flouncing around making cutesy animals, flowers, and very feminine decór most of the time , and recently my female audience has been skyrocketing due to my decór vids, while I think I was alienating my male audience by not providing some more designs for boys specifically. I wore the shirt for a few seconds because it's a humorous shirt that expresses my personality that fit the theme of the video, and nobody has been or will be harmed by it, I promise you. You found the one swear word shown for a few seconds on my channel of over 150 vids.
@andrewsballoons
@andrewsballoons 8 жыл бұрын
Well, I thank you for taking time to respond. It may be the only instance of it in all your videos, but I did not look for it. You do such a great job on the videos and have mad balloon skills. But I guarantee that there are others out there that also would find it offensive. Sad to say that that language has become pervasive in some segments of society. But my kids and my colleges, as Christians and balloon twisters, would find it offensive. You can speak as you wish. God gave us the right to speak, but that does not mean we should say everything we can. As a professional, just trying to let you know, that language still does offend some people. And the less people are offended the more people share and watch. Thanks for responding
@BalloonSage
@BalloonSage 8 жыл бұрын
Andrew Grosjean All I can say is that people love to take offense to things. If I say the name of the breed of dog "shih-tzu", I am still saying "shit", yet it is not offensive. If I had a shirt that says "I love my country", there is a very filthy word as the first syllable of "country" yet I'm sure you say that word and don't think twice. As a professional, I have never cursed in front of a child and the parents and kids always love me at the events, and this video , again, is made for adults. I just think there is something to be said for not castrating expression, and there is nothing inherently technically harmful about the word "shit", legally or spiritually. I read my bible and I take "taking the lord's name in vain" very seriously, but other than that, I have a hard time being offended by any words at all. I have had people at church events get offended by my balloon sculptures of Christ (made purely as a testament to the Lord) but most people simply understand what in reality is harmful, and what isn't. Just because someone is offended, it doesn't mean they were actually harmed in any way, and I feel like you are talking to me as if I am potentially causing harm to people by wearing a shirt with a silly word on it. I appreciate you expressing your opinion, I definitely understand where you're coming from, I just hope maybe you can understand where I'm coming from as well.
@andrewsballoons
@andrewsballoons 8 жыл бұрын
I understand the logic of what your saying. There was a time when our society kept that that language out of entertainment. I believe that was a better time. I understand if you do not. Thank you again for the time to respond.
