Balls2U it's the least I can do for the amazing content you put out, I haven't yet got a snake as I don't think my flatmates or landlord would appreciate it :P, but I'm aiming to get a ball python as soon as my circumstances allow me too, and I feel that when that time comes I will be well prepared to care for the little bugger thanks to your channel ;P I also love learning about the different morph combinations- truly fascinating and it blows my mind the beautiful combinations you produce. Thanks again for the content, keep it up! 😊🐍

Sucks this happened to you. I had a upsetting season myself. Lost 7/8 eggs in one clutch. Cant figure out why. The only survivor out of the 8 was a normal female with an severe eye issue. I believe she is blind. Wasn't sure what I was going to do. I read a lot of breeders just put them down but I wanted to see how she progressed. She ate very well once she got the hang of it. All her other functions are normal. She's actually has a great pattern. She's a het Pied. I'm going to keep her. I don't have the heart to put her down. I call her Stevie...like Stevie Wonder:)

I know I am super late to the party but I am going through watching all your videos. You have inspired me to get into breeding. I have a question I am by no means trying to question anything you did with the clutch. What could have happened if you had let them incubate a week longer? As you said it didn't look like they had absorbed their sack completely, so maybe they could have lived another week? I don't know I am simply trying to learn and have a constructive conversation. I know that their is no way for you a s a breeder to know before you cut the eggs open and then you have to worry about suffocating, and you did incubate them an extra 2 days. So maybe I'm crazy? Thanks for reading my rant :)

I just had a cinnamon clutch, 6 eggs, 2 duds, 3 were those silver with clear bellies and 1 was an odd cinnamon looking one. The really odd thing is that this cinnamon's mother threw one clutch with the same silver babies. None survived. She(like yours) was not bred to anything that should have produced a silver baby so I was confused. Thank you for the video. I hope I can find out more.

As you said, it happened here in the states recently too, to Mark from Balls out, and it is tragic that this ever happens, and I sincerely hope you never encounter it again. I have personally decided not to breed super cinnamon's due to the issue Mark had, and seeing it again here, I am more confident with that decision.

Greetings! If you, or any of your viewers who read the comments can offer it, I need some help! I've had a female ball python for 14 years, and without any male contact, she just laid eggs 5/18/17! I've SCRAMBLED to learn what I can on parthenogenesis and incubation, not having any reason to expect this. I've never bred (nor had the intention to breed) my gal before. Furthermore, I "candle tested" the eggs with a very strong LED light and of the 6 eggs she laid, 5 of them had CLEAR AS DAY veins all throughout. (The 6th was an obvious slug.) These eggs have since been removed from her and put into an incubation chamber. The temp is at a steady 88.0 - 89.0F, and there is 79-81% humidity, steady. I have many questions, and am not finding answers that easily online. If you (or others) can answer any of these with some background knowledge, it is much appreciated! 1) How common/rare is confirmed parthenogenesis? 2) I know for sure that due to the veins, these eggs are developing. However, how commonly does something go wrong with parthenogenesis eggs? Should I not get my hopes up? 3) What might I need to watch out for in the incubation process? From what I have currently learned, there isn't much I need to be doing other than maintaining those temps and humidity above. Just wanted to double check...anything else I need to do? 4) What are ball pythons like after laying eggs? My gal seems disinterested in food. I thought she'd be starving, as she fasted for a good month before laying. (She was thirsty, though, and has drank plenty.) Thank you in advance for any help you (or others) can offer!

It's gotta be what it is. I can think of no other possibility. I've had her all 14 years without male (or any other) ball python contact. Not sure if you're on twitter, but I've tweeted the photo of the candle tested eggs. Veins are obvious. I'm a skeptical guy by nature, but I don't know of any alternative, logical conclusion. I'll offer her food in a few like you stated. Thanks for the prompt reply! Good to know there isn't more I should do.

hello. Im curious were your female hatchling from the partho clutch able to breed? like with no issues regarding fertility? I heard that the chance of partho clutches being male is very low. But if its a male its 100% barren. What about your females so far have you bred them now?

how can the female pick and choose what sperm gets used? ive heard of this happening with pet snakes with no mates, but why do you think it would happen with an animal i assume you did breed? lastly, does a parthenogenesis animal this that is hatched and raised and then breed pass on broken genes?

Hey Gavin, what in genetics would cause a BEL to have a duck bill? My BEL has that, it's not a major one but he still has it. He eats voraciously, no kinks or anything. Just a duck bill. you should never RE freeze food....my advise is if you have 10 snakes, only defrost 5 rats, then he any don't feed, you have 5 other snakes to offer it too.....then the next day, defrost 5 or what ever you need to feed the rest.

@aaaaalllss8 жыл бұрын
Captive and wild are the polar opposites, fact on a empty stomach none of them animals would survive a week. Infact id probably say if they where in the wild they would be the prey. One day you might of loved snakes and what not but today it is purely about money. Yes i know exactly where snakes live, sorry what they need to live. That is probably a better answer to your question.

aaaaalllss this spices of python live underground they don't like big open spaces.....if they was not happy they wouldn't feed or breed.... this is my hobby that I help and show people how to look after snakes in captive collections.... money has nothing to do with it..... education is the key to conservation..... all my snakes are pets and have names....... I think you need to research the spices before judging people!!!! plus it won't make you sound stupid to other people reading your comments. have a good day 👍
