Gavin great video.. I find all your videos very informative. I've experienced this compatibility thing this season for the first time. Females only accepting a specific male, and even finally got my banana pied male to start breeding. Little sucker is intimidated by the big girls though. Found this and got curious from the title... got to the 'you put the male in and nothing happens' part and started laughing. My problem was the opposite; no plans on actually breeding, momentarily set the virgin male with the virgin female for a few minutes while dealing with an issue involving his tub and came back to them locked... 15 hours later than expected, he went back to his own tub... Well, now I can wait to see if my six year old female will have eggs for the first time. Now every time I open the tub she starts wagging her tail and scenting.

Very informative video Gavin ! I have some questions ! Lol . I have a male and my friend has her female . They’ve had 5 visits now & nothing .. literally no locks that I’ve seen or caught but still nothing . She’s almost at 1500 grams , she’s 3 years old . My male is huge & is 6 years old . Both ball pythons but different morphs . She is in his tank because mine is 55 gallons and huge . Her being in his tank , does that matter ? Is she friend zoning him ? We’re doing everything correct from the research & I have seen that it doesn’t matter what tank they’re in .. any answers from you or Gavin would really be helpful . Should we keep trying ? Should my friend take my male to her house and try ? Her tank is a 40 gallon and would be too small for the both of them . Any information will help ! Thank you ☺️

I suspect my female is about ready to go. She was trying to pound out some rats, and now she has noticeably cut back. I dunno how old she is, as she was about 700 grams when I got her in April. She started that after i got my spider He is a bit too small to do his job. Hatched in July. He loves to wrap himself around her tail. They are housed together when I take them out and about. She also likes to lay directly on top of him, although I think that could be a dominance thing.
