Gaby Bladen because there are both sides. Ben broke up with Callum at Christmas to protect him, it wasn't about putting Phil first. It helps to see that they both have their reasons for doing what they do, and one person isn't always right.

I don’t forget it in regards to what Ben would sacrifice for Callum. I know Ben would do anything for callum...but Callum doesn’t know about him holding his dad at gun point (please for the love of Christ let him know, you stupid show). Callum doesn’t know about all the stuff Ben did when Keanu had him...cause magically for some stupid reason the show wants to act like it never happened. All Callum sees time and time again that whenever it comes to Phil, Ben will toss their relationship into the garbage. I don’t see it as Ben consciously does it so much as he just reacts to the garbage trauma Phil has pushed so much into his life as in do this to win my approval and love...bur Ben just reacts and doesn’t take the time to think of the greater consequences.

But to give Ben credit, he did tell Callum time and time again that he didn’t want to ruin him & that Callum needed to be protected and such. But Callum kept coming right back at him & telling him he could handle it. So? Yeah I cannot stand how Ben let’s Phil stuff impact his and callum’s relationship & please god let this be the end of it (not only for Ben Callum but also for Ben himself)...but he has warned Callum time and time again. So? Callum should be prepared if he’s going to commit to the man lol. Also when there’s no Phil dumb stuff involved, Ben is a great boyfriend. He was also great when Callum was trying to deal w coming out and etc. it’s just that Ben let’s Phil control so much & that needs to change.

That’s the whole thing about Ben and Callum though. They’re both such different but similar people who never expected to find something like they’ve found in each other (Ben didn’t think he’d find someone after Paul nor someone that could deal w him & Callum was never going to let himself actually fall in love w someone in a legit way cuase he wasn’t ever going to come out)...and then we get to see them doing sometimes crazy dumb things to try and adjust and change/better aspects of themselves to be together cause that’s what they both want at the end of the day lol

All Callum said was facts tho. But When comes the time for Callum to choose between his work /aspirations/dreams and his relationship, because it has to happen. I hope the writers make him chose his career/himself, otherwise he would officially have to take the trophy of the biggest doormat. Because the way i see it, it would be him who will compromize the most in this situation.

Yes I hope Callum chooses himself, but I really hope Ben doesn't put him in a position to have to choose. That they have an equal and healthy relationship. BUT it will be 'the compromising and doormat trophy' for Callum, because I think he is only series recurring and Ben's character is series regular. Ben's interest will always come first.

The old jerk has been responsible for so much, in addition to his health problems and alcoholism, I am sure at least one member of gangland would have finished him off by now - a walk by the canal, an iron bar, a splash, a short struggle and it would all be over. Would make a good story for PC Highway and Ben to team up to find out who did it - there would be a very long list of suspects who had the motive. I hope Callum doesn't compromise himself, because the way I see this relationship at the moment, Phil is using Callum through Ben.

Ben is awfully cute, but I'm afraid he's a borderline sociopath. I guess that's the premise of the series. Callum loves him and wants to help turn him around, but Ben's self-hatred and narcissistic nature cause everyone pain. The juxtaposition of these traits are a sure sign of sociopathy. He loves Callum as much as he's capable of loving anyone, but his mental illness won't let him stop abusing his own life and the lives of others. If this were in the real world, I'm afraid this relationship wouldn't last six months. I know I certainly wouldn't want to take him on. But love is love, no matter how complex or harmful it can be.

im not sure, but im thinking that maybe if you test the actresses and actors before and it's negative, then maybe they would be able to go closer, but i think the tests take ages to come back, and that person could've got it from the time they were waiting for the results, so it's too risky. id rather see them be distanced and know everyone's safe then a potential risk of one of the actors getting ill. imagine if max or tony got corona virus? or any of the team? it would be horrible
