Thank you for this video. I just picked up one of these 1075 units that is currently not working. As I write this post I have the wheel assembly out and I am cleaning decades old grease from all the moving parts. Already I am seeing results and I am very optimistic about seeing a fully functional machine. Maybe by the end of the day. Your video had enough information to make me feel comfortable opening it up and going for it. Thanks again.

Great video. I just got a 1975 Bally's model 1090. The arm is locked up. Sometimes I can get it to pull, but the wheels just free wheel. Where should I start ? Also any publications that would be helpful? Thanks

Hi Rusty. Thanks you uploading this. I recently bought an old Bally Quarters machine which only pays out on some on the 'Any Bar' combinations. Eg. BAR-BAR-TRIPLE BAR or BAR -DOUBLE BAR-BAR or BAR-DOUBLE BAR-DOUBLE BAR don't pay. But BAR-BAR-BAR does pay. I am going to try other combinations to see what else isn't working. Any idea what could be causing this? Thanks in advance

We have a Seeburg/Williams 1980 slot machine. In one of your videos you trick the slot to assume a coin was dropped. I can drop a coin or can do like you did try to trick the machine into allowing me to pull the handle but the handle is not released to pull. I can push a relay and get the wheels to spin as if the handle was pulled. I believe I have two problems one the wiring from the handle to the relay that trips the wheel and second the switch that reacts when a coin is dropped or like you when from the inside door lifting the wire that controls the switch.

Really helpful. Thank you! I have a 1969 Ballys slot machine that was used in Circus Circus Las Vegas. I need to re-grease it as the wheels don't move well. Should I use WD40? Thanks again!

Yes only two. Dirt and old grease makes them stick. Use a screwdriver to help apply pressure. Hope this helps.

Hello Rusty Key. I have a bally Bonanza 5 reel. And have an issue with reel no 2 as it brakes straight away when I release the arm. Then thec1sr, 3rd 4th and 5th brakes. I am a bit puzzled as from whar I understsnd is that it looks like that the braking is initiated by the horozontal solid slider that pushes the "wiper switch arm" to swing foward and brake. Is this assumption correct.

@Alexdelossantos123 > Well.. the systems is completely 'hard wired' and and conceivably you could change the payouts and/or add more. For example, I could make it to where the machine would pay out 1 coin ( per coins played) for all blanks on the pay line. But a much greater understanding of the system would be required than what I currently have. But doing so would increase the payout % and more in the player's favor.

So how do you adjust it for the payouts to be looser slots or tighter slot payout have the same machine
@hey_buddy_waz_up
@hey_buddy_waz_up 5 жыл бұрын
You'd have to increase the number of high payout symbols on one of the reels. Suppose that a standard machine has 1 seven on each reel, you would have 2 sevens on the 2nd or 3rd reel to increase the odds of hitting it. Nowadays, it's all done with virtual reels, and is easily programmed. With a mechanical machine, you would have to physically alter the reel to have the correct size slot for the wiper to fall into.

I have this same machine Ballys 1090. The machine starts up and all the light come on, but I have not be able to get the handle to even pull on one,two, or three coins. I have tried everything i can to get it to pull both with the machine closed or opened. The vise grips you show in the upper hinge when the door is open where is the switch in that hinge? Is it the piece of metal in the back of the hinge body? And are the vise grips touching that piece of metal and the body of the hinge to make the connection ? Why do you think the Pull Handle seems to be locked. Any help would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks you. Ron..

@wrkey 2 жыл бұрын
The handle will not pull for a couple of reasons... some normal, some not. You got to figure out which one it is. The handle does not pull if the machine does not think there is a credit in it. When you put the coin(s) in, do you see the lights change designating the number of coins inserted? If not then the machine isn't recognizing the coin to "credit up" the game. If they do light and change, then you need to make sure the release solenoid is turned on which will allow the handle to move. If the solenoid releases then the handle should move. If the solenoid doesn't release then your problem lies in that circuit. If the solenoid releases but the handle doesn't move then it could be a mechanical thing. Work the problem in individual steps from the credit registering to the handle release.

@@wrkey Hi Rusty: Thank you for the reply. I was able to get the handle to pul by manually connecting the solenoid. My issue now is the machine is not recognizing the coin credits. The lights do not light up as the coins are put in and they fall directly to the hopper or the pay out box below. I don't have the key to lock the machine so i dont know if that makes a difference. Also I dont see the manual coin deposit lever on the inside of the door like you show in your 3 video. Is there a way to send you any pictures of it. Or do you have a number I can text it to you. I really appreciate all your help. Thank you. Ron

My machine just spins and doesn't stop, sometimes all three spin the first to stop but the 3rd wheel spins long than stops. Any advice you can give me. Do you know of a repairman in the Atlantic City area. Thank you

Thanks so much for this!! I have a low boy and about every 10-20th pull of the arm, the right most wheel does not spin. The arm that stops it from spinning does not articulate all the way back. Any quick ideas?
@wrkey
@wrkey 7 жыл бұрын
I suspect there is some dirt or old grease/oil or a combination there of that is causing just enough friction to prevent the movement. The stop arms need to be move easily so it can stop the reels quickly and thus it is designed to have very little friction. Dirt/grime/oil/grease/gunk could be a contributing factor. I would suggest a good cleaning of the swivel points and as you do so check for binding or scraping parts.

Rusty Key thanks for the quick response! I got in and cleaned it really well and used 3-in-1. I checked the tension as compared to the other two arms and it /seemed/ to be the same resistance, I have a trigger gauge I can use to confirm. It does draw back as the arm is pulled, it just pushes forward and stops the reel before the arm is released. That said, is there any other mechanism that spins the 3rd reel differently? I remember reading or seeing something about more randomness being added by spinning it differently, but honestly didn't fully understand what or where the mechanism is.
@wrkey
@wrkey 7 жыл бұрын
Yes, there is a timing mechanism that does change the time it takes to stop the third reel. I thought in one of my videos I show this and how it adds additional randomness to the process. It sounds like the delay components may not be functioning as designed and allowing the release to trigger to soon or not reset at all.

I got a Ball 777 machine. It paysoff at Orange, Bell, Bar. Don't know why. Any Idea?
@wrkey
@wrkey 4 жыл бұрын
I suspect there is a wire connected to the wrong spot or perhaps a short caused by a wire or a drip of solder. Put is in the that configuration and then pull the reels. Follow the circuits from the reel wipers and see where they go and what is done wrong.

Wow, I haven't messed with this thing for a year or so. I am guessing here. When the 'winning' combination is made, the coins begin to disperse. As each coin is 'popped out' it trips a pay out counter that turns the display odometer and adds one click on the pay out regulator. When the regulator reaches the point where the amount equals the selection on the reels, then the machine stops delivering coins. The most common problem is the coin sensing switch is dirty, out of adjustment or a wire is broke from it. If your payout counter is ticking off the coins, then the coins sensing switch it working, if not, then I would start my search there. If the payout counter is ticking, then find the pay out regulator (in the top I think) and see if it is moving and/or switches out of alignment there. I hope this helps but as I said I haven't looked at it in years and I'm at work right now so I can't look at. Let me know what you find.

So, the slot machine has no idea how much it paid out. If it did know how much it paid out, that goes to a data base so a human can see whether the machine is working properly or not.
@wrkey
@wrkey Жыл бұрын
Not real sure what your point is here. These old EM Slot machines kept track of the pays and coins in though mechanical meters. There were not computers or electronic interfaces into any database. Record keeping and monitor was all done by hand. The game it self would go into a "titl" mode if the pay didn't equal (short or long) or the win.
