Magnificent piece of work! I was one of those little English kids who cheered on the B-17s as they crossed The Wash bay outbound, testing their "fifties" as they did so......and forming up into their groups. What a sight and sound. Then....by night.....our homes reverberated to the sound of the RAF's 1000 bomber raids. (That's 4000 engines folks!!!!!)

Not all 1000 bomber raids were carried out by 4 engined aircraft. They usually were a mix of twins and fours so it may not have been 4000 engines. One thing the Germans did not like their visits as they and the Americans bombed it into a pile of rubble. Remember Munich and Düsseldorf

Jack Bally is one of a very rare breed. This project; he did it all! Draftsman, engineer, fabricator, builder, mechanic and, oh yeah, private pilot, too. EVERY piece of this aircraft, save the wheels, engines & props, was designed and built by Jack Bally. To see The Bally Bomber, in person, is to be truly astonished. Every problem that Jack encountered over the past 17 years during the course of this build, he solved. My wife and I were fortunate to occasionally see the progression of The Bally Bomber. To hear Jack describe his setbacks while sharing cold adult beverages was an experience we will never forget. If and when this aircraft debuts at AirVenture it will be "The Belle of the Ball" and garner all the worldwide attention it rightfully deserves. WELL DONE, Jack and Carolyn!

Absolutely beautiful craftsmanship! What a testament to Mr. Bally's skill in creating compound curves in the aluminum. Loved his sharing that the props are free spinning to prevent the engines from turning over when curious people want to pull on the props. Having polished leading edges on corporate jets, I know how challenging it can be to keep aluminum looking good. This plane looks better than good!
That's amazing. I hope you'll be able to film it when/if it is flown.
