I love that even when I dont like the collection there are soooooo many beautiful and cool pieces you can break apart and put with basics that are undeniable show stoppers. You buy Balmain for that one piece that you walk in and people say wow. Its not for shrinking violets. The square shoulder they do is the best I have seen. And the coats with the sash lapels. Genius. He's a fashion kid and its fun that they let him play.

I worry about the quality. I mostly buy from Givenchy and Dior, and decided to go into a Balmain store last year. While I tried on a coat that hadn't been tried on by anyone, a button fell off. Didn't leave me with a good impression and their stuff is made in Slovakia, India, China...

Well that is a young designer. I find the shoulders are a bit too wide. Colours are good but at moments I start thinking of Donatella Versace which ain't all too good. Black models come out the best and they walk the best too. I liked very much the tight kaki pants and the plastic like outfits and the long silk cloth veils on their backs. Also liked that bucle design. High heeled girls look good.

Impressive! This is the first Balmain collection in quite awhile that I don’t find overly-garish and over-designed. It still has the Kardashian-esque excesses and exaggerated volumes that you expect from Balmain, but it is more controlled. As a result, the collection is modern (even though it is 80’s galore), feminine, and dare I say, classy. Also, i love the diversity of models, particularly the use of older models, Aliya Kebede, Esther Canades (what a wonderful surprise to see her), Caroline Ribeiro, Julia Stegner, and supermodel forever, Helen Christiansen.
